THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh :dunce:

I still have a lot to learn about roofing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yep. Exactly.

My rig turns sharp as hell with just the front engaged. Noticeably sharper than rear-wheel only, and certainly better than all 4 locked.

Having more wheels pushing you straight makes you go straighter. That just adds to the amount of stuff that doesn't want to follow an arc. If anything, the 'classic' school of thought (locked rear, open front) is way more counter-intuitive to me.
.

Its interesting, and I'm just going from experience, but this one time I grenaded the spider gears in my front axle, and they would mesh in a certain way and lock together. When I got back to the paved road to get out to the spot we parked the trailers, I was going fairly slow around a corner, when the spiders decided to mesh in the certain way that locked them. I had already initiated the turn, was in the middle of it, and once they locked, I could no longer turn even though the tires were turned. I drove straight off the road into a ditch. The trip back to the trailers led me off the road two more times.

I'm seriously going to do a test when I get back home.

I'd bet they literally locked the gearset from turning, not locked the tires together.

You should see the tracks the M54A2 leaves. When I turn the steering all the way to the stops I leave visible tire tracks on the asphalt even with open diffs in the back. When I used it to help a friend move (we fit ALL his furniture, and half of his belongings, in the truck in one trip) I happened to park on some nice new asphalt, it was like 75 degrees out and turning the wheels from lock to lock actually tore chunks out and left a tread imprint in what remained.

.

if it was warm enough my creepy crawlers would lay down a strip as dark as if a normal person would do a burnout. but, you could clearly see the tread pattern.

sucks being able to literally watch your tires leave behind you lol.

hell if i ran em on the street at low pressures the tread would get all wavy within like 5 minutes of driving lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sam, didn't you deliver pizza for a while on those tires?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Blah, writing project not-quite-complete reports. Thankfully it's not my head on the chopping block, I just get to write about it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Traviss jeep turns like shit with the welded frt

yeah but I don't have any hydro-ness yet... once I get the wheel to full lock, the actual turning radius isn't bad at all IMO

I think its on the same weekend as deepwoods anyways. Speaking of I think chris should come up and compete for that plus there's gonna b wheelin sat

hell yeah

If there's no Carlisle this year, Colin WILL be there, and Chris should definitely go too :)
