Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Dude, you gotta add the cumin! That's like the essence of the whole thing!
You can safely use at least a teaspoon if not more. You won't regret it.
Glad it's working out though...funny thing is, this recipe was my first ever attempt at chili.

I'd love to evolve it further, but honestly I don't know what to change. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it later. The bacon might be the next thing I try.
I've got batch #3 about 45 minutes in on high, I have a feeling this one is gonna be mobile-cooking again. Should be fine by 11 PM though.
Fine. I already thought it was pretty good and was hesitant to change anything, but I added 3/4 of a teaspoon. You had better not just screwed it for me. :gag:
I'm pumped for the reactions tonight, my family is begging me not to take it and I've already caught two members stealing bowls. :laugh:
I'll have to make more for Christmas dinner, darn this is fun.
Now after my modifications this is what I've added to exact measurements:
* 1.25 pounds chili ground beef
* 1 pound of bacon with most of the fat trimmed away
* 6 ounces sweet sausage
* 2 ounces hot sausage
* 1 cup chopped onion (1 cup ~= 1/2 onion)
* 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 can (4 ounces) mild green chili peppers
* 1 large diced jalapeño pepper
* 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) diced tomatoes (1 can unsalted, 1 can salted)
* 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
* 1.5 teaspoons grill seasoning blend (smokehouse flavor)
* 2 tablespoons chili powder
* 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
* 1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
i make fudge, unlike bill whom is a copycat of chris
So you are coping Angel? She just made some. :laugh3:
