Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so Mia and I went to see The Fighter tonight, it was a cool movie, and it was filmed right in the next town over :) and I guess the screenplay was done in part by a guy Mia had as an English teacher, cool as well. I was slightly dissapointed though, I thought the pickle was going to make an appearance but didn't :( In the scene when they get back from Las Vegas and are riding around in the limo, I was driving home from work and saw them going back and forth filming that. I had to wait at that light forever hah. Anyways, yep. I enjoyed it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will sell my soul to the devil before I will try and use ice and water shield membrane working alone again :flamemad:

And I only have one ladder till after christmas, so getting two people up there is impossible.
Why?

Just gotta leave it uncovered in the slow cooker to evaporate some of the water out. The slow cooker on 'low' is about 200 degrees, on 'high' it's about 300.

Just tried it again after modifying the spices - added a little more of everything in the same ratio - and it's much better. The cumin is what I'm most worried about.
I know its a bit late, but when making chili in a slow cooker, the spices tend to build up more than when you cook it normally. I learned that a few years ago at a holiday party. I made it in the morning, thought it was weak, so I added more spices to it. By the time lunch came, I was the only one who would eat it. By the time I got home, it was pushing it for me to even eat it.
A can of tomato paste also works well for thickening it up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

one part I think they messed up though, there's a little walkway bridge thing over part of a canal near middlesex community college that they show quick in the movie, and it's supposed to be like mid 90s at that point, but I coulda sworn they just built it within the last 5 or 7ish years. whatever, it's on the screen for like a fraction of a second and has nothing to do with the story so I won't hold it against them even if I'm right :laugh3:

and it's ironic, because I think I was walking to Lowell Memorial Auditorium from the parking garage with my dad/uncle/cousins to watch a fight when they were building it. What're the odds?!

Ross, if you put a winch on black jeep, you have to get one of these hawse fairleads.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This batch of chili was my first big kitchen project. Besides that, it's mostly just mac & cheese or frozen stuff.

Made a pretty good mess and my carving knife isn't sharp enough, but it was a nice experience. Hopefully it turns out good.

The disappointing part is I won't even be able to enjoy most of it. 3 quarts of chili at a holiday party ain't gonna last long.
fyi If you turn a porcelain plate upside down, it makes a great honing stone.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I warmed it up in my jeep, and it stayed warm just long enough to stick to itself in a few places. Then it got cold again and wouldn't stick to anything else. Ended up stapling it down, then using the floodlamp to warm it 1 square foot at a time so I could press it down.

yeah, that unglazed ring works great :D might get you in trouble if anyone notices though...

If the weather is too lousy to work on the roof tomorrow, I'm gonna do some welding instead.

I dont need a winch cause I'll never get stuck, if I do buy one that black one would look nice. The amount of .!.:D.!.'s that will be on the jeep will be stupid, some will be subtle some will be BAM some will be pink.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

More badass gusset ideas I like. The vendor diybeadlocks.com on Pirate said he'll custom make gussets for like a buck or two each. Im thinking about coming up with a design and having a bunch made.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why bother? :dunno:

I would just do curved or triangular gussets, though I prefer the clean look.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Im gunna be using them as fish plates, patches, and just laying flat over things. Its all for show, man!!!

If I rock can hit it, there'll be a flipoff there to tell it to piss ouff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
