THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

NOBODY NEEDS BIGGER AXLES TO BE COOL. This isn't a contest. Keith will still be my friend even if he stays with his current setup. The only real reason to swap is to stop breaking parts on the smaller stuff. D30/D44/D60/D80 doesn't matter to me. What matters is you have a brain and are fun to do things with.

well put. thats why i just pack shafts with me :sunshine: ill upgrade when i dont DD my jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

new compass.

discuss.
Not bad, it looks like the new Grand. I like it for what it's meant to do, spacious enough to go to the mountains for skiing or camping for the weekend. but still compact enough to drive in the city with ease. Looks a little low for anything more than a gravel road with a few small washouts, which may make it difficult for camping.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

until they put straight axles and a good motor and transmission in the Compass, it remains a steaming pile of penguin turds

will never happen.

agreed. looks a lot nicer. my stepmom has a patriot and its fairly capable.. the traction control is awesome. i've plowed it through 2ft of snow without trouble, just gotta keep that little motor revving up and all 4 tires will be spinnin

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've been looking for one for my sis. She wanted a WJ but she has no idea aboutt he fuel economy for one. she thinks it'd be similar to her current Jetta. I'd like to see her in a compass or patriot.

almost 50k on my stepmom's 07... 2.4/CVT/AWD... it's cost nothing but gas and oil changes... super reliable and gets like 24mpg average.

yeah :(

speaking of which... sky is falling, end of world beginning. They put a Liberty in the XJ row at Sam's.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I watched Bob roll Liza's XJ is the only time I sh1t my pants.

If he was my height, he would have been in serious pain.

with that being said, I just wouldn't try any really stupid lines until I got a cage in. AKA exactly how I wheeled my XJ.

I'd rather wheel moderate/hard trails than wait 2-3 years just to wheel extreme trails.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Billy, I do recall Maegan breaking her knee... Not death, but it's certainly a day ruiner.
Unlike some, he does not want to create more projects for himself and take years.
Says the guy who did just that

Yes she did and it was unfortunate.

Accidents can happen. I just plan to minimize the chance that they happen by not trying extreme trails.

Billy went to far flexing on a rock. Not what you'd call a typical situation

That's why he said unlike some:dunce:

Yup. Bill admits his build took a long time and completely understands why I would want to "skip" some steps.

I wouldn't be wheeling what some people would consider a "built or "perfect" rig, but I don't care because I would be wheeling while those people will be sitting here reading/researching things.

Keith got it. :)

Couldn't have said it better myself.

That's funny. I'm partly playing devil's advocate, partly serious. Ma Bell isn't hard but countless people have rolled there. Just food for thought.

Yeah, I saw it happen too. That was my first real wheeling trip.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup on Gatekeeper and Committed.

I never tried either one.

Food for thought.
I figured you had done gatekeeper... I've only done the center line while it was dry. The right is where it's ugly.

Nope, because I knew better than to risk my XJ where I knew people had rolled.

I was DDing it at the time, driving even more than I do now while putting 90% of my co-op money towards paying off school, so I couldn't afford to have a destroyed XJ.

Point being, I knew when to back down from certain obstacles if I thought I had a chance of rolling.
