THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris, you should try using propane or mapp gas instead of hairspray.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have made ones that used the aquanet, as it was plentiful back in the day in any girls bag, but now I build them using compressed air because I work with all the parts I need at work. Nothing like getting paid to build one. I'm not sure about any measurements or numbers on it. The one thing you can do with air that you cant with the gas, as easily, is adjust the pressure and add tanks. We also use a putty compound, kinda like playdo, that we've shot thru cinder blocks, sheets of plywood and completely out of sight. I was actually going to bring it on one of the last wheeling trips I did.

Hahahaha, so you're treating it like it's a 'car' and on a frictionless slider with the hand of God pushing it forward?

Yeah. You know, all those wonderful assumptions made for first-order physics calculations. :D

Don't forget that wind resistance is negligable too.

My thought as well after I just saw that pic bigger than a thumbnail for the first time. :conceited

Tried propane, worked OK, kind of a pain in the ass to meter accurately though.

MAPP exploded the combustion chamber of my buddy's gun years ago. He couldn't hear out of his right ear for a few days and it took a few weeks before his right eyebrow looked normal again. I believe his construction methods might have been on the shoddy side, but I'll stick with the hairspray for now. :D

FWIW, I know the pneumatic guns go farther, I just like blowing shit up. :flame:

I should build another compressed air beast. I don't think I have any pics of either of them anywhere but it was able to put a (very) rotten potato mushed up in a trash bag through 2.5 sheets of 1/2"+ plywood (may have been 3/4", but this was years ago). It blew clean through the first two sheets and punched a good break in the last sheet. IIRC that was firing at no more than 80PSI, maybe 100... That was one of my first test shots and I didn't wnat to over-do it and go all the way up to 120 just yet :D

I had also been used to using Aquanet, but apparently Suave extra-hold requires some different stoichiometry for an optimal mixture. Later testing has shown that it's a much more potent fuel.
Try right guard spray deodorant (the stuff in the brown can). That's the best I used and it has no perfumes so it doesn't leave that black tar mess. It leaves a slight wetness but that's it so no cleaning necessary. My aerosol cannons were always used with right guard and never cleaned, always worked fine.

Edit: That video sucks, but the cannon was the same idea, he def isn't using much pressure at all(maybe cause he is in his yard?) either that or is compression chamber isn't large enough for the size barrel he is using.

That is more or less what my first air cannon was except for two minor differences.
1) Instead of being a long straight cannon I had a U-piece so that the compression chamber is below the barrel.
2) Instead of using the sprinkler valve I used a PVC ball valve which worked just as well... except it was manual.

My 2nd cannon was not something that you held to shoot, you sat it on the ground and let her go. It had a large (probably 2.5'x2.5' or 3'x3') square base of maybe 4" PVC which was the compression chamber. The barrel came off that and used the sprinkler valve to fire (built that one in '03 IIRC, before everyone was using the sprinkler valves )

both had the interchangeable barrels and all. Could fire anything I wanted, best was probably hwen I loaded the hand held one up with paintballs.... covered the side of my buddy's fathers shed with paint from maybe 30 ft away with one shot :D It was freaking awesome.

I don't think I'll make it. Jenn wants alone time. And she looks better naked than any of you fellas.

I've never had that issue either.
You've clearly never seen me naked.

I'm going to have to disagree. My figure is ultimate to any person's male or female. None can stand up to a mini man:gee:
Ya, and you're a pretty short man as well...
:D

Wait a minute, unless were tyalkin about something else, you were smoking at Colin's.
Ya, and a lot too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I need a weekend off, if I dont get one I dunno when Im gunna find the time to try and get the axles/suspension/t-case swapped into red jeep. This sucks and I'll be very upset if its not all ready for rocktoberfest. I THINK I can get away without doing the t-case swap and re-use the existing stocker d-shaft with a conversion joint, but I'm worried about the pinion angle changing when I swap to the 242 and new d-shaft.

no, its the fact that now I dont have any free time. I WAS gunna do the swap this weekend, but now I'll be working my ass off both days for probably 10hrs each day trying to get a bigass job done at Northeastern.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Boohoo.

I'm gone for a minimum of 10 hours every day for work. Stop whining and get it done.

I'm pounding out a D20 tonight when I get home at probably 7. I left for work at 7 this morning.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have more indoors crap to get done tonight I think. Maybe I can get it done in time to get outside for a bit.
