MJ > XJ

Debate solved

Oh and Ken. I see what you mean about two "Z" shaped pieces making up the unirail from the front LCA mount back. It still seems thicker than an XJ unirail. Either way doesn't matter since it's getting plated.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Who's coming out for the Oct. 30th race, and hey - anyone want to co-drive? Right seat's open as of now. :D Gonna be very little rock crawling, mostly just fast flat track and a couple little rocky sections.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

maybe if i my sister's sentra is running well enough... thing gets 35mpg... and i have that little thing called money...

... and only if i get to shout out pace notes.

also, anyone know the best way to get fluid stains (coolant and ATF) off of a driveway? gotta clean mine...

Yeah, makes sense. Mine got cut out and replaced because it was solid rust with a thin, patchy coating of steel.

MJs are the best kind of 2-door :D

Coolant should wash off with hot water and maybe degreaser (I use the stuff in the 1 gallon purplish blue jugs of the cleaning aisle of home depot, careful, that shit will take the calluses off your hands, it does NOT screw around) but ATF will not come up... it eats into the asphalt, and if it does come up, it will take some with it. The only way to get ATF to come up is to hit it with degreaser and water IMMEDIATELY before it has a chance to soak in and eat the asphalt.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damn, that '92 MJ that I posted a while ago is still for sale down in NJ for $1500; the one that was supposedly for sale on here w/ a rusty bed though it looks like the rust may have been repaired, 105k miles, 5 speed, etc...

...I'm still really tempted to drive down and take a look at it, but it's a hell of a drive for something that may have lots of rot to deal with that isn't necessarily shown in the pictures in the ad.

yep... neither was my landlord

fortunately the driveway had several other large craters from erosion and was sliding off the side of the lot into the neighbor's yard, so I pointed that out and she stopped giving me crap about it and had it redone a month or two after I moved out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

dude, its almost fall. just make sure leaves are covering it and worry about it in the spring, thats what i do.
works great!

also leave 3" of packed snow under your vehicle while swapping trannies, when you are done you can simply shovel the snow up and put it in 5 gallon pails, wait for it to melt and skim the tranny fluid off the surface.. and you will never break a sweat working on your jeep while lying on snow

i did that at my house at school hahahaha

dump coolant and PS fluid everywhere when i changed the water pump and PS pump. just shoveled it all away lol

and this effing nissan is such a POS. pulled the thermostat, threw it into some water on the stove and it opens the same time as the new one. i'm still convinced this thing is just XXXXed. gonna flush the system out with a garden hose and see if it'll run better. cylinder leakdown test showed a headgasket leak, but not that bad... but the thing has no heat out of the hvac... and a good thermostat. waterpump is next before i convince my parents to just throw it out lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Is that all you're worried about is heat uot of the HVAC?

Do the lines going to the core get hot? Could be a vacuum/blend door issue.

well heat up the hvac is a sign of a clogged system and/or headgasket. i never checked to see if they get hot, it never concerned me bc my parents seemed to be convinced the car is fine and my sister my will drive it with the temperature gauge pinned on hot bc shes clueless (she has btw lol) then it wouldnt start (bad plugs) and they decided it actually has a problem.

i'm gonna put the new thermostat in and see what lines are hot and what arent later.. i'm sick as hell and just wanna go back to sleep lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wow, your sister is a good example of why most people should not be allowed to operate complicated machinery :wierd:

who the hell drives a vehicle while it's overheating KNOWINGLY?!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not sure whats worse... that or my mother driving around with her low oil light on (i got in to drive once and the light came on about a mile down the road, I pulled into the nearest gas station and added oil). When I brought it up to her, she replied with "oh it hasn't been on too long and I'm going to get an oil change later this month anyway, figured that would take care of it" And it was more or less a brand new vehicle too.

Thankfully it seems her car has a dummy light that light comes on when the vehicle is only 1-2 quarts low rather than when the engine is almost completely out... doesn't seem like there was any damage done.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i love people that put pictures and whatnot on their dashs, completely covering up things like the temp and oil pressure gauges.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just realized why I'm so sore... probably has something to do with climbing up on that truck and jumping back down to get another tool like a million times yesterday.
