Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Carmelo, I think Colin said he has set-up bearings for a 44 so you can just cut the ones off of your carrier now assuming you're re-useing it. As long as you have a set of set-up bearings you'll be fine, just toss the bearings in the grill and carrier and/or pinion in the freezer. They will literaly slide on.

So I got cut off on the highway doing about 50 mph and had to mash the brakes. Naturally since my ABS isn't working in my truck right now the rear end locked up.

I proceeded to drift around a corner, in the fast lane, with the ass end of my truck towards the guardrail about 30 degrees, for a solid 3-4 seconds.

I now need to change my pants and somehow get my heart to stop racing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy crap, that sucks. Glad that you and your truck are OK. Did you happen to catch the plate of the guy that did it?

A very influential person in my life passed away last night. Not many of you have ever heard of him, but his name is George Parks and he was the director of the UMass marching band.

AMHERST - George N. Parks, for 33 years the director of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Minuteman Marching Band, died suddenly Thursday at age 57 while traveling with the band in Ohio.
Parks and the 350-member band were staying overnight in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, en route to Ann Arbor, Mich., where the University football team was scheduled to play the University of Michigan on Saturday.
Band members reported that Parks died following a band performance Thursday night.
Besides serving as director of the band known as The Power and Class of New England, Parks was professor of music at UMass. He received the university's Distinguished Teacher Award and the Chancellor's Medal for Distinguished Service. He was named an Honorary Alumnus of the University of Massachusetts.
After serving as drum major for the West Chester University Golden Rams Marching Band, graduating from West Chester University, and receiving his graduate degree from Northwestern University in tuba performance, Parks became director of the University of Massachusetts band in 1977 at the age of 24.
A tireless fund-raiser, Parks was the driving force behind the $5.7 million Minuteman Marching Band Building, currently under construction. The new building is named in his honor.
Under Parks, the band became one of only 27 collegiate marching bands nationally to receive the Sudler Trophy given by the John Philip Sousa Foundation

Nah didn't catch the plate. Nothing I could have done about it unless I happened to crash I guess.

That sucks man. Doesn't mention how he died? Heart attack or something?

Some retard thought their car would look good occupying the same space as the one in front of them on 290 and caused a 7 mile backup, but nothing that exciting happened to me. I hate bad drivers.

Yep. All day he was complaining about feeling iffy then he was rushed to the hospital while the band was performing. :(

That really sucks :(

I hope I go in some freak skydiving accident or something.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I always knew he was going to die doing what he loved, I just didn't expect it to happen for another 10-15 years...
