THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Awesome but aren't those 6 or 8 lug and wider? I mean I guess I can live with wider but I would rather not buy yet another set of wheels, I just got the ones I have!

I have 35s on 15x8s with 5x5.5 bolt pattern for $350.

Also have dodge D44 outers (bolt up to any D44 inner C) that will get you 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

Yours for free. All you'd need are calipers.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the roll pin broke?

was it a nice fit?

sounds like a pretty freak occurence to me.

if i ever find some time i could help ya gear it.

freak occurance or im just bad luck, this is the second 30 its happened to me on. I like your idea of tapping the carrier and putting a real bolt in

and i might take you up on that offer :wave1:

god damnit! I swore id never go above a 31! :eyes: you are severely tempting me and I haven't even really done anything with the 33s.

hahaha, that's my problem, I can find rearends all day long but front axles with the right gears and stuff are tough to find.

Colin, I'm definitely considering it... but this kinda throws all my previous plans entirely out the window and I need to give it some serious thought :roflmao:

EDIT: problem is, I'm trying to avoid dumping cash on a regear and 35s on 4.10s is going to kinda blow, I'm doing 4.10s t make 33s more liveable and because they can be found without much difficulty as stock gears.

Up to you man. I'd trust a stock D44 over a built D30 on 35s all day. I beat on mine HARD consistently with stock shafts. Figures the housing gave out because of a dumb modification

If you decide to narrow it or whatever I can give you my steering in with the deal as well for free (works for waggy width - 61.5" WMS-WMS).

I'd rather see the crap used then sit outside/on the shelf.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Im debating buying that set, how retarded would it look full width front and stock 44 rear? no sense in building that full width 44

travis did, now anthony will.

ps- dont buy the set cause its not what youd expect. that add is wrong, if its outta a f250 its gunna be a d60 rear and the front 44 with be LP

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think the rear end in that would be a D44...? Not sure but I doubt it is.

Nothing wrong with leaving it full width. Travis did and it worked fine.

You'd just have to get your rear axle to match. I did this buy upgrade to Superior EVOs (drilled for both bolt patterns - 5x4.5 and 5x5.5)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

1977 is a crap shot. some of the 77.5's made late in the year got the HP, but otherwise earlier f250's got the LP HD44. Again, this was another one of fords awesome times when they were constantly changing and putting different things in the trucks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just ask the guy for pics if you're really interested.

I'd be tempted to look elsewhere. I found Adam a HP44 several months ago when he was going to build one. It was only $100.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Whoa, I miss ~15hrs in this thread and now Ken is going to run 35s and D44s?

proven fact, my old 35's dont break D30's, only brute force stuff :D
Ummm.... What about your locker and your balljoints?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah you missed a bunch of D30 crap all within about 20 minute timespan and now Ken is paranoid.

I'm just trying to pawn off my stuff :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Brute Force reprocuations. Considering that locrite saw 5+ years of abuse on 35's and multiple shaft breaks and everything, it did damn good. the teeth were still nice and not rounded.

debatable.

I don't really intend to run 35s, I've always said (well, sorta) that I'd stick to 33s, or 32s, or 31s. I *just* bought the 33s I have and maybe have 2000 highway miles on them, if that. Right now my 30 is stock geared and worthless due to rusted brackets, so I honestly don't give a damn if it breaks in half, so long as I can drag the stupid thing back home (i.e. soon as the massivemobile is rolling again.) I'm likely going to just tap the carrier in the 30 I have with 4.10s so I can put a real cross pin retention bolt in it. I'd switch to 44s in a heartbeat if I could find a way to put my current 33s on them with a minimum of cash spent on rims, since I just bought my damn rims too... or if I could find 44s with 4.56s for about the same price as those ones Keith found, or less.

Basically I'm aiming for the least wallet-bleeding that will result in the closest gearing for whatever tires end up going on the axles, without putting me in the same group as Ryan (twice) and Adam.

And at this point none of this is going under the 96, it's going right under the 98, I want the 96 done ASAP and so it's staying with stock gears because that means it's ready to go sooner.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

One of my pet peeves: When people say they "broke a shaft" but all they did was break a u-joint which took out the ears.

I've still yet to legtimately break an axleshaft.
