THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

fawk you home depot. Just got 2 5-lb extinguishers, one is installed next to the e-brake lever (passenger side). Went to look for a spot for the other and the little red safety tab thing is already broken. Debating whether I should go exchange the whole thing or just throw some tape over it to hold the safety tab in. I know i SHOULD go exchange it but that requires 40 min. Maybe I will exchange it on my way tomorrow morning.

The cheapies usually lose charge after the seal is broken, in my experience.

To anyone with a respectable transfer case. If you will be at fall crawl the second week of september; I hereby challenge you to a front dig contest.

I would be honored to lose to the Honcho.

That's not a good plan if you were hoping to see me. Hope you guys have fun, I'll be...at workkk :bawl:

:woohoo: It was nice to finally see a NAXJA member again :)

Tpain turned my down on a lunch date to Pano's the other day. That bastard.

haha yes. I already was with Mia by the time you would have been in the area...had you let me know a day or two before hand, I woulda made sure to work something out!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, do you have a coax cable cutter/crimper? If you do, is it available for you to bring tomorrow?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

son of a bitch. so i was beating on my drill and i finally broke my 3/8 in bit. No big deal, i have the new one... started with the new one and it IMMEDIATELY snapped. Out to go get some more bits I guess. strangest part is I looked up into the drilled hole and it was perfectly smooth, no edges to catch the bit :dunno:

and the one that I got was still sealed, it is just that the safety clip falls out. the clip is still in place but just falls out. Im going back to HD now for a bit more hardware stuff and more drill bits, so im returning it.

Edit: just got a text "left tire end, replace immediately or meh?" at least my buddy is learning vehicles, he was teh type of guy who wasn't interested in doing any work himself. then he got an older ZJ and has done almost everything himself and is enjoying it. I couldn't believe when I talked him into buying a Jeep in the first place nevermind talking him into doing the work himself. Now I just gotta convince him to get an XJ or lift the ZJ, that will be the hardest part. gotta get him out wheeling sometime when he moves back up to NY later this year.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I found my countersinks. And used them. And used my 5" hole saws. everything lines up. Can't wait to make the spud shaft.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had a sweet day. Done with my training class for the week by 10am, having aced that chit. 96 average in the class. Went and took a tour of the Cowboys stadium since its a crazy engineering example (the 50 yard wide screen is aweeesome). Then, I went to do the Texas thang and went to the shooting range and emptied a few boxes of bullets of a Springfield MIL-SPEC 45 and got a little better at shooting.

The shooting range had targets of zombies. NUFF SAID

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

battery secured, new drill bits purchased (if anyone needs any bits other than 3/8 I have a lot now :gee:). Soon to be dropping the rear bumper one more time, drilling out all stock bumper mount holes and replacing with 3/8" grade 8 bolts, checking fluids, maybe swapping out front axle shafts before the nights over, maybe taking off rear tires and making sure everything is tight. Only concern I have now is that my rear driveshaft isn't going to like wheeling. idk what it has for u-joints but they are fairly new... my only concern is that I may have put brute forces in there back in my cheap/poor college kid days.

What is the best u-joint other than spicer? I don't have time to get spicers tomorrow AM but I might get up at 6 or 7 and try to swap out the rear u-joints with whatever is the best I can get at autozone/advanced/napa (unless people don't think that will be an issue :dunno:)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

don't bother with it, the driveshaft will be fine for one run on class VIs...knowing you, you'll start doing it, fawk it up, and not wheel :roflmao:

honestly though, I think it'll be fine. Obviously having Spicer joints in there would be preferable, but that's more of an issue with axle shaft joints than with driveshaft joints

I had the oppurtunity to be in Dallas when they were in the middle of building that thing, granted I'm not a Cowboy fan (go pats) but that stadium is ridiculous.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just over 12 hours until Lobster's... and I think I'm going to skip it. I'm curious as to see how long I can go without wheeling.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i may show up in the am, no wheelin though, no rear tow point

Yep, can bring it, what connectors and what rg number cable if you know offhand?

Wait what
You're kidding right?

Keith, can't find the damn pinion nuts anywhere.

Just spent the evening getting stuff, including 4 spares/new tires for the massivemobile for 20 bucks, a jerry can for 20, and a hilift for 40 that the guy selling the can had around. Figured id need one eventually and it was a decent price.

Was just nearly erased from existence attempting to load the first spare into the back, those suckers weight a LOT. Like 2 or 3 hundred at least. Holy shit. I'm gonna get my hoist out of storage tomorrow morning.
