THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So what time are people showing up at the show today and how late have people typically been staying there?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am over 220 pages behind. I'm not reading them.

Thats at .006" backlash
I missed this and I'm not hunting, what axle?
D30? Run it. Or depending on your shim combo add .001-.002" to inner pinion, no more. That is very close and I'd take the .006" backlash.

It's a 8.25 but that's what I'm going to do. I'll pull it apart in 300-400 miles and check everything to make sure it's not out of wack.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll probably have to finish the gauges in my truck and I want to start the inner rail plating on my MJ.

I don't think I'll get to see him before Saturday unless he stops by my house.

You're not cool enough to hurt a housing :D

Dude, take a day off and come up on Saturday. You can start the plating on the MJ any day of the week, but you cant witness something that hasn't happened in 1 year, 7 months and 3 days every day of the week.

I replaced the fan clutch, but I have no where to mount the winch control box.

clearly this means wheeling should be called off, you can't wheel without a winch control box.

Why can't you find a spot? Just no space left or are the wires too short? If the latter, I can bring materials to solve this problem... hydro crimpers are awesome.

I might consider it, but it all depends on how smoothly the gauge install goes on my truck. I've already lost some weekends working on the MJ due to other obligations (going down to the cape with family, homework, etc.) so I'd rather not lose anymore time. I don't know how people go for years without wheeling trying to build something.

I rarely have time during the week to work on it since I don't get home usually until 6:30 then have to do homework. Not to mention once the fall/winter hits and there's less time until sundown, I'll have almost 0 time to work on it during the week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

want to go home... so much to do at home. not enough hours in the day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Zip tie it to the grill you pansy ass!

JK make it clean and do what you have to to wheel on Saturday because I'm calling back seat in you Jeep now.

If we put both our junk on dollies we could have one inside and one outside at my garage haha. Or two inside and no room to work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

pshhhhh... wrenching after dark is fun!

seriously, I've welded more floors and frames and done more mechanical repairs in the dark than in the light.

d30 install in the MJ? started at 7 or 8pm. Went till 1am.
fuel tank in Ian's MJ? in the dark, in a thunderstorm. Both nights we worked on it this happened, go figure, they were the only rainy evenings that week.
WJ booster in my MJ? you guessed it, in the dark.
one of the leafs and both of the coils on my XJ? in the dark, the leaf was in the middle of a thunderstorm.
floors, frame rail, shock absorber crossmember? mostly in the dark, all in the rain. Hell, half of this I couldn't even use an angle grinder for, I was measuring and marking, driving a couple miles to the mall parking garage, cutting and beveling and grinding, driving back, welding in...
exhaust on my MJ? done in the dark, part of it with a hand cranked flashlight because my work light ran out of juice.
radiator and most of the front clip on the 98? you guessed it, done in the dark

I've done some brake lines, the gas tank on my MJ, a leaf spring, some shocks, and some O2 sensors when it was light out... can't think of much more. Oh yeah, some of the massivemobile repairs were done when it was light out.

who gives a damn if it's dark, work on it anyways :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For wheeling requirements, a ABC or BC fire extinguisher is needed... I dont think the bylaws state anything about size. Should any size meet requirements or is there a minimum size I should look for. Stopping by Home Depot on the way home hoping they have one that I can pick up.

(Yes I know it's better to be safe and get a bigger one or a couple smaller ones than to be cheap and get the smallest one possible... but just curious if there is a size requirement that I missed)

Woh, don't put words in my mouth. I just said I didn't have a place to put it.

Anywhere the box can go to with the wires connected, does not have any places to really mount the box. I would like to mount the box somewhere else and I have a bunch of stuff down at my house to put a control on my dash for the winch. I would like to do what Colin did and have the control box somwhere under the hood.

Whahhaahaaaaaa.

Ya, its a pain in the ass when your on the receiving end of it isn't it?

I thought about zip tieing it to the grill, but if I do that, I'll wait until I get to Lobster's, don't want to do that in Boston right now.

I don't know how much more weight my Jeep can handle, with Ross in my Jeep I'll practically be riding on my shock's collapsed length.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you actually want it to be useful in an emergency either get a couple of small ones, or one large one.

And put em within reach of the driver and passenger seats.

EDIT:

Don't worry about it man, I'm just giving you shit :moon: should I bring my heavy gauge cable and crimpers and junk?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How many times has this been asked of you?
Leave the man alone.
How many times has what been asked of me?

I will not leave the man alone, I've received enough sh*t from him and everyone else that I'm more than entitled to give it back when they are in my shoes.

Mark, you're being a vagina.

That's the plan. Thinking one will be a small one mounted next to the e-brake lever on the dash so very easily available with another (maybe larger) one mounted to the B-pillar behind the drivers seat or something but I have no clue what type of selection (if any) HD will have. Just wanted to know if there was a minimum or if it's a "just don't be a tard" type of thing

Your Jeep wont even notice my skrawny ass!

Nah it's cool though, it would be nice to ride along with someone the whole time but I really only need a ride from Johnny's to the begining of the C6 roads and I'll walk.

assuming my beast fits down the class 6 roads at all, I'll have a passenger seat open. It kinda has no padding on the seat-back though.

There is zero chance you will affect the ride height.
