THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok

how come

every 4.0l i have ever owned, used a small amount of coolant? everything else has been fine. i have put plenty of miles on em and it never got worse.

BUT EVERYTIME I POP THE CAP IM LOW ON COOLANT.

well this time i appear to need a waydiator, but it got me thinkin

I noticed this on the one out of tinky winky.

What I finally found was that I had a small leak coming from the thermostat housing ONLY during the first 5 minutes of start up when it was dead cold.

I can't remember if it still got low on coolant every now and then or not.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea, so my jeep has been mint. never leaked a drop of coolant. it was in the garage at work today, i pop the cap to check the level and its actually fine. but i notice a drop of coolant on the floor. i get the pressure tester and my radiator pisses coolant out at 5 lbs of pressure

WHAT THE EFFFFF.

i hope it makes it to north kingstown and back today. i need to get parts for my bike so i can ride that around

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

colin, what'd you call about?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Copper/brass or aluminum rad?

If it's copper/brass I can likely solder that up for you in 20min or so.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damn.

Good luck with that... I have those in the 96 and the 98, probably going to throw the one from the 96 in the MJ and the almost-new brass rad I have into the 96.

EDIT: ogod. Just accidentally consumed several grams of salt. Lesson learned, when at the end of a bag of pretzels DO NOT upend it to get the small remaining bits.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin good idea 440, alot of work to stuff that into a unibody, a SB would be alot better, i think my next progect after i finish this rig is getting ahold of a OBD1 318 or 360 and a 727

got 3 blanks gut out, but am out of cut off disc, .25 plate li8kes to eat em up, id keep usin the skillsaw but takes to XXXXin long and keeps trippin the breaker, so off to HD to get more disc, also Colin whats that place that u and Bill get the disc for like dirt cheap?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I usually buy my discs from harbor freight, but they don't last that long. Still at 70 cents a disc it's not bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They last a LOT longer than the harbor freight ones and I haven't had one explode in my face when I nick it on something. (*knock on wood*)

i <3 my HF wheels, they cut thru 3/4" plate no problem and never give me a problem and last like forever :D

I ordered 50 last time.

I might order 50 more sometime soon (not that I'm near out yet)

let me know when you wanna order more, ill probably pick up 100 or so

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm not looking forward to having to make some clean cuts with my grinder. oxy/ace is so much faster and easier. too bad it makes a huge mess. hey colin, want to try out your torch supah dupah torch on my doubler plate? i have a perfect use for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm bailing on HF wheels until I run out of those ones you just linked at a bad time.

$7.99/10 for HF ones that are made in Russia and warn about cancer causing chemicals vs $5.90/10 for Heleta ones that don't - no contest.

Their knotted wire wheels are a damn good price too, less than half what I paid at home depot last time.

EDIT: Anthony, it's not tough once you get used to it. I did some real nice straight cuts using my angle grinder on the 1/2" plate I used for my U-bolt plates.
