THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The key to engineering is triangulation. It was first discovered that it increases pizza slice's ability to hold it's shape while eating. Much greater than a square slice of pizza. Other design cues can be taken from pizza. In fact, everything stems from the fundamental design of pizza.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If anybody needs ANYTHING off a 91-95 XJ send me a PM as Im picking one up this weekend to end my motor issues. I'll sell pretty much everything real cheap because once I'm done its getting scraped ASAP.

Mark I do have those fog lights. Send me a offer PM.
I thought you were gonna stop doing this :roflmao:

old habits die hard I guess :D

What seats does it have in it? What color interior? 2dr or 4dr?

EDIT: cmelo, wise words indeed. I'll have to make some ramps out of pizza to go with the turkey sandwich big block.

EDIT2: Bump, what's the radiator made from? If it's a copper or brass one, 2 row, and in decent shape, let me know what you want for it.

I need a fan shroud for a friend. -$5

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I might take a few other things for him too if they're cheap. He needs it to get to drill every month(he's a marine) so I'm trying to help him out. He's also leaving for Afghanistan in a few months so it's also my own little way support our troop(s).

Alright, I'll send you a PM in a bit.

Damnit, I need a fan shroud as well.

Condition on header panel and passenger fender? Chrome bumper by any chance? Does it have the center bumper guards?

I do need the lower brace between the fender and frame.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i decided that i need a welding jacket

what i got done today:

  • fixed the mig and got it back to 100% (wire goes smoothly through the sleeve and there's no gas leaks)
  • made cart for stick welder. rather than bolting the casters on, i said screw it and welded them on :roftlmao: if one of them needs to be replaced someday i'll just grind the welds off.
  • ground down some of the welds i did with the stick welder yesterday and redid them with the mig. the mig is better at thin stuff...

Of course this was a study done by amsoil, so it's no surprise their stuff did best (on the shear test on page 6) but damn, royal purple got WRECKED!

I think I'm gonna stick with Coastal, especially for the massivemobile, since it's the only gear lube autozone carries in 5 gallon pails. I will not be surprised if I go through a pail or two on a single diff lube change, not including transmission and transfer case. If I could get Valvoline SynPower in 5 gallon pails locally I'd probably use it, seems to have done fairly average/decent in the tests.

EDIT: jesus, even amazon wants 210 bucks for a 5 gallon pail of it, nevermind, coastal it is

More or less the same first questions that crossed my mind, first the 2dr vs 4 dr, then what trans it has, then what color. dibs if it has a good AX-15 :D (aka PM sending)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i need to crack the windshield in jeepy so it can get new one, current one gots a couple chips and it pitted pretty good

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rob, I'll trade you... lol

The MJ has a LOT of cracks in the windshield these days. Something bounced off it and the one crack became many.

It's too bad they are such a pain in the arse to do properly.

EDIT: gonna build myself some belt watchdogs so I get a warning if the belts in the massivemobile blow again, don't feel like repeating that experience. Also looks like I'm gonna be giving easternsurplus a significant chunk of a paycheck for parts to get this beast closer to original condition... ow. I'm used to XJ parts prices.

EDIT2: nm, ebay is aaaaaawesome! :D
just bid on some headlights for like half the price easternsurplus has em for, so it's just belts and e-brake parts, tach cable, filters, and temp gauge now.

My buddy's miata just lost all its belts last night while another friend took it for a drive around the block. None of us are sure exactly where or when the carnage took place but the guy got back and the car owner got in to drive to the bar and realized power steering was gone... which in turn prompted checking the belts and realizing the power steering belt also turned the water pump... and that the other belt was missing too  not really funny but I can laugh never-the-less

And I had quite the strange experience at an after work event tonight... a bunch of people were passing a pipe full of slightly less than legal herbal remedies for their glaucoma around and my boss and I were in the room hanging out since we were the only two who dont smoke. when I grabbed said pipe to pass across to the next person my boss said "idk what you do, feel free" and ask I passed it away he said "no really, doesn't bother me at all" and laughed. First off I don't smoke.. 2nd I really don't think think that even if I did smoke I would hit a pipe in front of my boss (unless he partook before be of course). But then again I have a strong feeling he used to (or still does) smoke herbal remedies since he smokes his cigs like most people smoke ******.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Looks damn similar, but then again, there are only so many ways to make an HD motor mount.

$115 for a tachometer cable :smsoap: that blown $21 belt is costing me a pretty penny when all is said and done

just get a tach from summit, with a shift light of corse

shift light probably won't be at the right speed for an ancient massive diesel :dunno:
it also likely won't have the right takeoff/connection for a milspec engine... I suspect the military does things their own special way.

Thus, the milspec convention.
