THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Js_customs - well, maybe not THAT far :roflmao:

I'm doing 84/81/80/76 down, return trip can be whatever. Actually might hit rc in the mj or the 5ton sat/sun if anyone is up for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Scott - I'm about an hour from rausch creek atm, kinda far away. Thanks though!

Just gassed up, over 18mpg with an overactive hammer foot!

I was thinking if you get stuck on your way back a bit closer than RC

Though if you are on your way back tomorrow night and get stuck in the 5-6 hour away range I would be willing to make the trip if needed, phone's always on... but 10 hours each way would def be pushing it, haha

edit: phone's always on except right now... it (literally) just died. Talk about perfect timing

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Turns out it's an m54a2 actually. Looks like a bit of surface rust and not much else... Driving home is gonna be an adventure.

I'm almost certain we'll be speaking with the police.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ah well, another time I guess. We just towed the mj with a 50cc mini-bike because we were bored.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do people even think sometimes? I put those SX's up for sale on Craigslist, and I just got an email from a person offering me $400 less than I had posted them for, and was he was like ya and I can pick them up ASAP, like that would actually make me want to take him up on his offer.

I answered him simply by saying "no," and got a return email asking what is the lowest I would take for them then. Since he pissed me off, I told him the lowest I'll take for them is the price I originally posted them for.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There seems to be a lot of stupid going around today.

I just took the bike out to pay bills and run a couple other errands, aka go to the hardware store, dig through my storage unit, etc. Went down one road to Ace hardware and on the way back down the same road there were two guys standing in the dirt/trees at the end of their driveway just blowing dirt into the road with a leafblower... wtf? I can see clearing your driveway but standing in the woods/dirt and sending that shit into the road? Both times right on a corner so it made for a couple interesting surprises.

And lets not talk about the old woman who cut me off or the guy who parked in the middle of the road and started driving out again as soon as I got close to him. But all in all it ended up being a 2.5 hour ride because I couldn't bring myself to head back to the house :D The bike was running like absolute shit for the first hour of the ride (when I was actually out doing errands) but as soon as I started heading back to the house whatever was gumming up the carb must have cleared so I couldn't stop riding then

Nice, Now no copying my plans, at least not untill I build one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hahaha, I've had this plan for a while...

I just learned to fix death wobble on an m54. Guess what it was?

Steering box bolts (tightened) and steering box bracket to frame rivets, we ground out the loose ones and replaced with grade 8.

Ken, congrats! Cant wait to see it! Made a friend at the Weare Rally, and he has connections to parts, iirc, if you end up needing things for it.
Those guys are pretty hardcore with the restorations!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Awesome!

I'm gonna wire wheel and rattle can the peeling paint and rust spots for now, but might do a full restoration if I manage to find a place to do it.

I'm definitely buying it (paperwork is happening in 15min)... Question is, am I driving it back this weekend or getting it registered then picking it up. I hate decisions like this.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah. Idk what I would do in your situation... I would hate to have to make another drive down there to pick it up but after getting the registration, but at the same time if you do get stopped it will become even more of a headache. I mean I never had a problem driving a car/Jeep/motorcycle home w/ the plates from some other vehicle but that was never more than a 2 hour drive (and not out of state either).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We found a notary with temp plates, its now 100% legal for 30 days.

Driving it to rc and wheeling it or the mj tomorrow!
