THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have come to the conclusion that i will never go a month without a power steering leak ever again

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What is the point of it being a 2wd, different gearing?

Different input and mainshafts, as well as different tailhousing bolt pattern.

:wave1: This kid right here...

:wave1: The only glass I dont have spares for are the rear 1/4 and windsheild.

I was going to give you all of mine when you were here! I have like 3 sets from Sam.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

want to make my doubler...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In 3.5 hours I'll be driving to Pennsylvania.

Thoughts on what I should bring? dot5 and dot3 brake fluid (these trucks can use either and I'm not sure which it has in it), coolant, diesel oil, my air compressor, every tool I own, and probably some brake tubing in 1/4" and 3/8" sizes are already on the list, along with assorted electrical repair stuff.

Seems like we're gonna have a real hilarious convoy going, too, because another of my friends wants to ride his motorcycle down. So coming back we're going to have a 5 ton truck with a motorcycle in the back, a rotbox MJ, and an audi A4.

Anyone else wanna drive 10 hours to the middle of nowhere for a weekend trip?!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

are all those vehicles going to fit in the truck bed?

Not quite :roflmao:

The audi would fit, or the MJ would, or the bike would. No two at once AFAIK. It's a 14 foot bed.

We'll have 3 people and 4 vehicles by the time I've bought it, so the plan is to put the bike in the back and drive 3 vehicles back with 3 people.

a camera to document the awesomeness
Someone's gonna have one, not sure who. Probably the guy with the Audi.

bike in the bed of the MJ, MJ in the bed of the bigass thing. what model is it exactly?

sounds good though. ken - i'm not saying this cuz they're awesome, but a portatorch setup could maybe come in handy...

I believe it to be an M813 but I'm not sure. The current owner isn't sure either, there is much less info on the net about the 5 tons than the deuces.

I don't own a portatorch setup, but I will be bringing my MAPP/oxy torch setup and my propane torch. The PO claims it ran and drove fine from where it was stored to his yard, but he hasn't used it since then. Basically he wanted the deuce it came with and had to buy both as a package deal so it got used as a tire and firewood storage platform for a few years then he stuck it on CL, and apparently I'm the only person who actually contacted him asking to buy it.

I kinda like that idea... we may have to do that. Theoretically, we will use less gas with fewer tires on the ground at a time.

I think my dad is gonna love this vehicle, he's all into the renewable energy and stuff so you wouldn't think he would like a big gas guzzling truck, but a lot of people run them on waste motor oil and fastfood fry oil (both filtered of course) so I might give that a try... or mix it with some diesel.

YO DAWG WE HERD U LIKE BIKES AND TRUCKS SO WE PUT A BIKE IN YOUR TRUCK IN YOUR TRUCK SO U CAN HAUL YO BIKE WHILE YO HAUL YOUR TRUCK

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hell yeah, that would be awesome to run on grease.

i wouldn't worry about the consumption of gas of the motorcycle, but that would be one tiring and boring trip for a bike having to ride alongside a truck like that.

i think bump asked you, but i missed the answer: where are you going to keep this?

Parking lot near where I presently live, once it's registered. If it becomes a problem there... the parking lot at work. Hell, I'll daily drive it if I can find enough fast food places to get oil from.

My original plan for a deuce was to throw one of my other jeeps in the back and park it in my space at my apartment, since they never said what kind of vehicle I could park, just that I had one space, but I am fairly certain a 5 ton will not make it into the lot, and if it does, won't ever manage to get back out.

I also have a couple friends who live nearby who would probably let me park it at their place as long as they got to drive it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was just thinking that would be a long ride on a bike in general, the most i have done in a day is 6 or 7 hours I think... but yeah a 10 hour ride back with that truck would be a real PITA, I think I would end up just taking off at some point :roflmao:
