my buddy finally sent me some pics of when we hiked the Bonds and Twins in the White Mountains last month or so. they are making me want to get back up there again ASAP, maybe do the presidentials next time?

Whatever. It seemed to work well. And the HTC Hero has a much smaller screen (my sister has it) and it was bothersome to try and type with it as the keys were so tiny.
Yeah I probably won't use half of the functions on the phone, however I'm already paying for the unlimited data plan. But it DOES have an 8Mpixel camera on it, which is better than the digital camera I have now.

I have been looking at that one myself, but have stayed away until the new android OS is available for it. I heard the battery life is still sub par and I am kinda hoping Android 2.2 fixes some of the batt life issues... and the fact you have to pay an extra $10 per month for the "premium data plan" kinda sucks; esp since we don't even have 4G service anywhere around here at least until they release 4G in boston late this year or next year IIRC (and even then we would only get 4G while in Boston). So yeah, haven't made the upgrade yet.. and at the same time I am kinda hoping the insurance company will start replacing my current phone with the EVO pretty soon... if they do that I could upgrade to the EVO for $50 by conveniently losing my phoneand not have to renew my contract either.

The keyboard is the one reason I have been hesitant to move from my current phone. I have a touch pro 2 which has a physical slide out keyboard... I don't want to give that up for an on-screen only one, having the full size physical board is awesome. I just wish I could get a similar phone that was running android rather than windows mobile (which is why I am going to load a custom ROM to the phone... so I can mask the windows mobile as much as possible, make it run faster, and tweak everything just how I want it). LMK how you like the phone (assuming you got it). I have almost made the jump and got it a few times now but keep talking myself out since idk anyone who actually has one to get firsthand impressions:thumbup:

Rob - damn, that sucks. How is one supposed to buy a car in another state, tow truck / shipping?
New plan is that friend of mine will go check the 5ton out (since he's on his way home from wisconsin) and find out if it runs/drives. If it does, I haul ass down there and drive it home with one of the vehicles stashed in the back.
Seems I still have an overheating problem on the 96, I suspect it's a bad tstat plus the 33s on the iffy trans and the water pump is probably sketchy also. The torque converter sporadically unlocks and occasionally it dumps into OD at low speed and/or clutches slip. Next time it does it I'm measuring the solenoid resistance, starting to think replacing those may fix it.
Made a lot of progress on the 96 as some of you saw at the car show, it's actually got less floor missing than it did when I started at this point. A few more welds and a bit more metal stock and it'll be "done" and ready to be beaten.
