THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Soo I learned something today. I learned that skate shoes DO NOT hold up to metal slag as well as steel toe boots do. FWIW...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Should fix it and keep using it... they generally aren't difficult to fix.

its a black & decker paddle one thats seen at least 10 years of Ross abuse. ive already had to change the head housing once and redo the connections once too. Lowes has the same exact one, just a porta cable name, for like $40 brand new. ill grab that and have the old one as a backup/flap wheel only one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You seem to be trying to cut corners in the wrong places. If you want motor mounts call Brown Dog, spend $10 more and get something that isn't a knock off.
that's the kind of thoughts that i was looking for. but for what it's worth, BD's go for $70+ shipping, don't they?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd still go brown dog, probably $80-85 vs $50 overall, and you get brand new mounts instead of used plus the warranty is probably better.

I just looked back at my invoice, I paid $67.45 shipped for my polys.
Aren't you pulling the motor anyway, why do you need them now? He runs specials all the time. If you can't wait there is a 10% NAXJA discount, IIRC.

If you really are planning a 2yr build you need to write down a list of stuff you need and the prices they are selling for. Then watch the deals and see how it compares. I did this and I don't think I paid full price on much.

Fixed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Brown Dog or shutup. Don't skimp on mounts.

Mine help up my entire drivetrain for who knows how long. They only have little bit of play in them but I bought new bushings for $20 shipped.

BTW, I think I'm going to take a stab at making my own block side mounts.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin if you dont have a set deadline for the MJ I would think about it but if you do just buy'em. If you want though I have the Brown Dog motor bracket if you want to look at them, take measurements.

Oh also when I was ordering my mounts for the Heep from BD I just called Karol there and talked to her and she gave me 30% off. I would call before ordering online. They have 10,20 &30% off codes.

guess who's driving to PA and picking up a 5 ton truck with a massive cummins turbo diesel, 5 speed manual trans, 10 wheel drive, etc for 2500 dollars this weekend... seller accepted my offer

This is gonna be a HELL of an adventure!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My only "set" deadline is to make NACfest of next year.

I wouldn't mind stealing them to take some measurements. Would make my life a lot easier. Hard to justify $150+ when I have a 12ft length of .250" sitting here.

Brownesville. Southwest corner somewhere.

I'll be doing interstate 78 and 76 most of the way across the state.

It'll be about a 9-hour, 550 mile trip down, and a 10 to 11 hour trip back assuming it doesn't break down. If it breaks down, things get REALLY interesting.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a bigger spare parts wagon.. nice!

not a bad price at all...

I haven't decided whether or not I want to pull the motor. I don't need them now. If it was decided that they were a super deal I was going grab them, sit on them, and install them when the time came.

I was thinking of building my own block side mounts too. I have a bunch of plate too. I'm not gonna skimp- whatever I put in is going to be way better than stock.

damn good deal. Can I borrow those mounts and I'll take measurements? (I'll provide said measurements to Colin too)
