Made some damn good progress on the 96, added 3 or 4 square feet of floor. If I do this again tomorrow and wednesday it'll be at the car show and hopefully wheelable (somewhat) by next weekend.

Ken, dont waste your time or money on adj lowers, get fixed lwers with some sort of flex joint on one end and adj uppers, as far as catbacks, i wouldnt recomend dynomax, my tailpipe is rusted already and the muffler has gotten alot louder, just get a tailpipe from autozone for 95 xj(96+ cost more for some reason) and a cheap super turbo(i like cherry bob super turbos)

Exhaust is for the mj, I'm gonna weld it up then pull it back out and hi-temp ceramic paint it, buying whatever cheap shit rockauto has. The arms are for the 98, I'm strongly considering putting 33s on it at stock height and looking for 0" heavy duty springs, haven't decided for sure if I'm gonna do that or swap my 3.5" over when the 96 bites it. Guess I'll just end up with a minor wheelbase stretch if I go stock height with 3" lift arms, thanks for the guidance

That skid you posted pics of kinda worries me actually... I can see those cross ribs acting as pretty decent rock anchors. Should be pretty amusing watching you make gravel with it

i wish i had your gas tank skid, mine doesnt do shit. my 1/4 tank fillups now only give me about 12-13 gallons, when i used to fill up about 14-15 gallons with 1/4 tank left.

Anyone got a set of control arms for 0-3" of lift that they want to part with?

Would prefer adjustables that'll fit anything in that range.

fawking work internet is so god damn slow right now. And I just made a list of "stuff to do" before I leave today since I have almost all of the rest of the week off.... looks like I might be working late :doh: my only saving grace is I just found out I have an extra couple hours free this afternoon since a meeting or 2 was canceled. Maybe if I prioritize items on the list and only do the urgent stuff I can get out of here a bit early.

I can't believe he (a) snapped a knuckle right off a Rockwell and (b) 3 wheeled up that mud hill anyways.

EDIT: as for plating... I aint platin' SHIT on the 96, it can go to hell, damn rust bucket. I'm going to finish welding the perimeter of the frame replacement / sleeve and call it done. And I can't wait to see the reaction when you guys see how that sleeve is held on...

it doesn't look like it's welded anywhere except the edges when you see it from the outside, I plug welded the hell out of it from the inside since I had no floor in the way!
