THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Iroks and SSRs come in a 38"-39.5" range on a 17" rim. not sure if you are avoiding those or not :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you want to do that, I'll trade you a rear driveshaft :D

Perhaps. I put the 33's back on, the 36's just weren't anywhere close to balance for me to drive it the 70miles on the highway back to Boston/DD to work on Storrow drive.

I did hear/feel a clunking coming from under my feet every time I went over a good bump on the highway. I'm leaning towards tranny mount, seeing as there are now only 3 bolts holding the tranny mount to the crossmember, which is being held to the vehicle by 3 bolts. :gee:

I did pack/get crap ready to go wheeling next weekend though.

And I love getting back to Boston at 1:45
Sure, I'll see if he can meet up.

I just locked myself out of my house. No car keys, nothin. Just have my iPod and cell phone. Can't even get to work.
I use a carabiner to clip my keys to my belt for this reason. I've locked myself out of my apartment once in three years. Oh, and I keep a spare key for every vehicle I own stuck in my wallet.

I NEED A 60!
Buy Colin's 44, I hear he'll sell it for a real bargain

I used to do the carabiner thing but have stopped ever since I started wearing slacks to work every day. Haven't locked myself out yet though knock on wood. I also do the keys in wallet thing but only for the Jeep. My altima has the key fob thing and pushbutton start so A) I literally can't lock the key in the car, and B) even if I had a spare key for the car I could only get inside; couldn't go anywhere w/o the key so it's pointless to have one. I just always have my keys, cell, and wallet on me any time I am not in my room. Usually have all 3 on me from when I wake up to when I pass out.

On the other hand I am calling about a truck today so hopefully the altima disappears soon.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh yeah... driving it like a granny I managed 22.36mpg on the way home (from first to second fill-up.) Doing 80-85 I get 18.change mpg, I think I will split the difference and aim for 20 @ ~75mph.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That Gladiator concept has been around since before the JK was in production.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh, and I just got in my Jeep for lunch (which made it to Boston by the way, yay) and the bolt holding the heim onto the t-case lever fell off :gee:

Jon, I forgot that you had a manual transmission when I picked up the driveshaft from you, its a hair bit too long.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So that has to be one of the strangest things that ever happened to me...

I got a call at 11:30ish this morning on my work cell. When I answered it was some recording of a woman speaking spanish I think. Well I have been getting wrong number calls on my work BB asking for some guy w/ a hispanic name so I didn't think anything of it really, could just be that he was on some calling list and I have his old cell # (seems like that is what happened since many places have my number on record for the same guy).

So a while passes and I just got the same call again... on my personal cell phone. Call came from the same number and everything.

Somehow I got the same call from a single phone number out of Idaho on two different phones (I think it was Idaho, or Iowa. my personal cell tells me what state the # is from if it's not in my phone book and the state started with an I), and the phones are not linked/related in any way and the phone numbers are from 2 completely different states (work cell # is based out of CA). Both within 2 hours of eachother. :eyes:

Edit: And I know the Gladiators been around, but from the sounds of it Jeep may be looking into actually building a small pickup... maybe not the gladiator but something. I would be interested

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, is there anyway we could meet and exchange tow hooks/ driveshaft in the next couple days? I need the hooks for this weekend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, if you want the MJ tail lights I got them. $40. I noticed that the rear plastic (the black part behind the lights) has a small piece broken off... but not bad. I got them and can meet whenever if you want them or I can hold them until someone else with an MJ needs em.

Sure - I actually never installed them :( was just plain too busy. Do you need the brackets too? For those, you pay what I paid. Also, any idea when that mrjeepz or whatever can meet up with me? It'd be pretty awesome if I could just bring everything at once.

Sure - if you just want the cash back and don't want parts hanging around, I'll stick em in the MJ parts reserve till someone needs them. I don't actually need them at the moment but I'll provide a location for them to stay until needed.

Cool. I'm in no immediate need to move them but whenever I see you next I will try and have them on me.

And idk if you read through the few pages from while you were away at NACfest, but the rollbar had seen better days, the tube that went from the main hoop to the drivers side tire well was... well partially non-existent. Could pick up a length of the same size tube and replace that part of it if you wanted though.
The tailgate was pretty rusty in a couple spots, bumper was starting to rust through at the trailer hitch, etc. I may drive down again this wkend to check for that brake level thing you mentioned but I completely forgot about it last time I was there. Tank was pulled so fuel sending unit and such were gone (but it was a 4-cyl if theres anything else you want...) Also curious if it had the tow package and therefore possibly a D44? idk what the MJ options were so :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I doubt it had the tow package or big ton package if it had the 4cyl. You definitely should yank the front axle (if in good shape) though. As for the rear axle... Look at it, if it's a D44 it should be pretty obvious.

Not really interested in the rollbar if it's in that kind of shape :( darn.

The height sensing valve isn't really a big deal, at this point I have a spare lying around somewhere or other, but if it's in awesome, rust-free shape I would like it.

If it has the A/C delete grab the pulley+bracket and the HVAC control cluster, I don't need em but someone will want them and they're getting harder to find, at least in my experience.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

anyone got suggestions on where to buy car tires, as far as good price, service, etc etc? I need a set of 205/45/17s. 215/45/17 would be fine too, fwiw
