THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Awesome
A nasty rod knock came out of nowhere on my jeep today

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross blow up his 30 now?

Probably but I dont know. Colin called me to give me an update but I was at work. All I got out of it is he flew into space and his front 44 you know...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

he didn't hover, as carmelo pointed out. he went into orbit ;)

and keith, remember, 9am @ dom's. cya there

It's not going into orbit that breaks shit... it's coming out of orbit and hanging out down here on the ground again that seems to cause problems.

And I really dont look forward to going to the JY first thing tomorrow. I would much rather relax and hang out for the morning. I think I will call the yard in the AM and make sure the MJ has made it out to the public yard before driving down... I don't particularly trust this place to have actually followed through with moving it from the gated lot like they said they were going to do.

Otherwise this wkend will probably include making bumper brackets, drinking beer, and rewiring the internals of my CB.

Edit: http://www.tandtdailydeals.com/ if anyone is looking for a camera bag...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well, yesterday Colin decided he didn't like his hatch to open up normally, so he decided to open it from the side :D

As Carmelo said, Colin's front D44 now looks like this: \/

He broke the differential, and ripped the short side tube out.

I can only imagine the video to look like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e3EWmhTSi4

Holy crap. Well I guess I know whose jeep I'm not stealing a seat in then!

I just got to the campground and set my stuff up, everyone else is asleep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Off to the JY. Just called and they couldn't tell me whether or not the MJ actually made it to the public yard. I really hope I don't drive 40 min for nothing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya ken, they are all pretty much broken, I know they said they were thinking about just hanging around the camp ground today, and just watching RCrocks.

Weird though, I had a dream about Colin's broken jeep, my jeep, and a brairwood conversion van.

Man my dreams are pretty messed up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what a boring ass waste of a gorgeous saturday! exciting.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i did some lawn mowing and now im gonna take the dogs out then go do some tube fenderage and hopefully takt the lady for a jeep ride if i finish the fenders

anybody have any input as to why i shouldnt use 2 22oz blue moon bottles for overflow tanks since im gonna hafta relocate mine?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I took the jeep driving around last night, every time I would make a hard left turn (noticed it when I purposely started swaying back and forth to see how stable the jeep felt) it would start making a squeaking noise. Right before I got to my house, something sounded terrible, sounded like it was all coming from the pass rear wheel, thought the retaining bolts had come loose. Just took it off and everythign seems tight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My brother graduated from the Navy officer program at Newport on Friday, so my dad and I went up for the ceremonies. I have been to Boston a few times on business but haven't really explored anywhere north of NY before. We flew in Providence and drove to Newport, then drove my brother up to Boston to pick up his wife at the airport. After all the ceremonies were over, my dad and I went east on 195 to New Bedford, MA and then followed 6 along the coast to 25 then tooled around in Cape Cod for a while before going back to Providence for the flight home. Nice little trip. Wish I had more time and money to explore the area for a while. Pops wants to go up to Plymouth.

We had a Dodge Charger with ~2500 miles on it, nice ride but I don't think I'd buy one

Nice. I live right down the road from Plymouth. It's nice to hang out for a night and hop around between a few bars or something but alot of it is overrated. Plymouth rock? ummm... it's a rock, i've driven over bigger rocks before :dunno:  But it's nice to walk around and see some of the stuff esp if you haven't been up this way before, or so I hear. :) I grew up up here so maybe I am just used to it

And I just got back from the JY. They hadn't moved the MJ to the public yard yet so I mentioned it to the guys at the desk and they let me into the back lot :D:D 3 XJs and the MJ that hadn't been touched (except radios stripped out and such). Barely got anything though :( The roll bar on the MJ was quite rusted (as in rusted straight through at one spot.. could be fixed since most of the rust is in one of the angled bars going down to the wheel wells... but idk if anyone would want to do the work so I didn't pull it). All I got were the MJ tail lights for anyone that wants them. Tailgate was rusted. Bumper was rusted. fuel tank was missing. headliner was trash. had a bench seat (clean bench seat though), forgot to look for the brake leveling doohickey that Ken mentioned. :dunno: And nothing looked worthwhile on any of the XJs except one would have had good axle shafts. I figure I can get those on another day and will check for the brake leveling thing too. Maybe tomorrow if I get un-lazy. But today was good, got a 4.10 front axle for my buddy's MJ and a couple door locks for him. Not alltogeter a bad day

And on the way back I saw the most badass thing but I was driving so I couldn't snap a pic. A combination E-350 conversion van with a dually F350 bed/rear end and stacks. Blew my mind. It drove past me as I was turning onto my street, maybe I will see it again.. hopefully I will.

Edit: Oh and I found a great snorkle at the JY

and the XJ with 33x12.50 trxus MTs, those wheels don't actually look quite as bad as I expected them do :laugh3:

edit2: and I had a wtf moment this morning: After swapping the Trxus MTs on this morning my steering feels much more responsive and my right hand pull essentially disappeared :dunno: weird.

Hey Jon, I found out why the output was leaking, the nut holding the yoke on was barely tight.

Blah blah hurry up and fix your jeep and make me look like a bitch while everyone else shuts up. Just imagine it...

DO IT

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I drove it around last night and today before I tore it back apart and put that in. I just have to put the crossmember back on, and driveshafts, then Ross and Colin told me I'm going wheeling next weekend :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sure dont invite me. I might be tearing mine down next weekrnd though, depends on how my DD turns out this week. Oh and BTW, a NP231 weighs more than a Honda's manual transmission.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't invite anyone, I sent Ross a picture of the 241, since he said I had to have it in by the end of this weekend, and they both sent me messages back saying I'm going wheeling.

No job is complete without me Begleying something. I've had a broken crossmember bolt on my passenger side for a while now, and when I went to bolt my crossmember back in to finish the t-case swap, I stripped out the remaining nut on my passenger side. SWEEET.

I've already drilled a hole through the floor, I'm going to just thru bolt it for now, then it will be a moot point when I weld on the stiffners and clayton brackets.

Really? I didnt find my 231 that heavy the other day. A honda trans must be made out of plastic or some other extremely light weight material.
