Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

who else is following sam's blog as he treks across the country?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Electrical gnomes unplugged all his disgronificators.

Bill - over near the state forest on east road. It's in an HOA (I read through everything I could find in the registry of deeds) but it has a garage and the remaining restrictions no longer matter to me if I'm not working in the driveway.

I do when I can find the tab for it. At home I have my tabs sorted into different categories, I can never remember where I put the link to that site. So if I happen to see while looking for another link I check in.

explorer! :twak:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hehe, thanks. it's not like they've gone anywhere yet so it doesn't much matter.

Damnit, this is what I get for actually getting stuff done, and not waiting around.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

 I am running crown vic breaks. The ebrake cable setup sucks kinda but I got it working for the most part. Over the wkend I pulled my ebrake and it seemed a lot looser than it was earlier in the year so I gotta adjust it again... but it's ok, don't have to worry about that for another year

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sounds good to me. are they plenty long enough? if not i'll continue to run 2 passenger side 97+ xj cables.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmm, I know I've never had a problem with my cables being not long enough, how do you route the long ass passenger side going to the drivers side?

it fits great if you use 12 inch lift blocks

EDIT: just checked my NACFest packing list and if I really end up putting this all in the MJ I am gonna have damn near a whole jeep as spare parts. Probably a good thing because I don't really trust anything on the MJ right now.

prolly doesnt help when you put used motor oil back in :roflmao:

just have it flopping around above the axle and above the other cable. i think i zip tied it to something :dunno:

so, who has room to transport a set of VW rims/tires back from nacfest for me?

Well the passenger to drivers side wasn't that bad, but the single cable going up to the front really sucked. I would have had to put the ebrake bracket above the rear axle if I wanted to use that, that is how much bare cable was exposed.. I will probably end up making a bracket and installing it that way when/if I upgrade to a 97+ center console/ebrake lever since the 97+ levers only have one cable going in.. Either that or I am going to leave it how it is now and make a custom/steel center console.

For now I ended up using 2 passenger side cables and running them the same way the stock XJ (96-) cables were run, straight up to the ebrake lever. Only difference is that I had to extend the threaded rod/adjuster thing since the crown vic cables had much less cable exposed after the brackets. (that all probably made no sense at all... but I don't know the technical terms for half of it so w/o pics or a Jeep in front of me I am somewhat useless :gee:)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, yeah I was reading that rally comanche thread a while ago. Thinking I should head up to ME for that next event (if it's actually in ME, I just saw some locations in ME listed and guessed that's where it is...)

Anthony - maybe, will see once I pack.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: yeah I can't believe that's all I had with me, figure it'll be on the highway soon anyways. Ended up putting another 3 quarts (of new oil) in after the little bit I added at your place so I probably was down around 1.5-2 quarts again. No idea where it's going but that engine is almost certainly on its last legs.
