THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ahhhh dammit. I guess I'm gonna head for sullivan steel early tomorrow instead of hitting the junkyard.

Need 56"x48" heavy sheet (11-14ga) and 9ft 2x2 tube as well as whatever I end up needing for frame stiffeners, because this beast needs them badly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sorry ken! just got to the shop this morning and my last piece isn't that big. it's like 30x40 :( thought I had more still.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No problem, thanks for offering.

Bets on my neighbors throwing a shit-fit if I start up the angle grinder? It's nearly 8, that's sleeping in right?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Gasoline.

Worked awesome when I cleaned my dirty intake when I replaced my cracked exhaust header.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so got my tools some what organized, im missing a good amount of sockets:bawl:out of the 51 sockets thats suposed to be in my 3/8 and 1/2 set 21 are missing, yay! so pending funds this week i may take a trip to sears, so now im in my room organing shit

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

X2, Gasoline works great, brake cleaner / carb cleaner / starting fluid also are good.

Almost all the rust is out, I'm considering replacing the wheel wells while I'm at it since trimming the edges and rewelding was on the list of things I needed to do.

Anthony - good to know about the primer, can't find anything except cold galv spray anyways and since its all zinc it seems like a great way to poison myself.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just pulled the aussie out of the 8.25 i sold to johnny the locker looks almost brand new, and the splines on the shafts look perfect too

My conclution Aussie>Lockrite, i think ill weld the 60 before getting a lockrite

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what ya do

gas tank is beat beyond recognition, broke a window and just beat the living hell out of the body. just not worth me making everything straight again to get the tons under it.

im gonna get a yj with a real frame for ease of 4 linking, 350/TH400/atlas swap, and its got a real frame

and mini man gretchens is really fun and i think your jeep will do fine there. i just wheel hard and did one or 2 extreme trails but mostly the most difficult

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rob - rebuilt the JKS track bar you sold me today, everything was in fairly good shape internally, figured out why it wasn't taking grease also. The greasing hole in the side of the bolt shank doesn't line up with the slot/grease ports in the center ball. Can't decide whether drilling another hole is a really poor plan (and will be done) or a really REALLY poor plan (and won't be done.)

Only a little more rust to chop out of the XJ and then I can put it back together... going to pick up a ton of metal tomorrow morning. I need most of a sheet of 11-14ga, 2' of 3x3x0.25 box, 6' of 2x2x0.125 box, 3' of 5x3x0.25 box, and 2' of 3x0.25 plate. Gonna cost me way too much... wish I'd had a little more warning so I could order with the next group buy.

Also I'm really confused, all 8 of my rear bumper mounting bolts came out with ease, even though there was 1/8" of rust chunks hanging onto the nuts and bolt threads. I barely had to use the breaker bar at all.
