THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i dunno. it might not be as pretty as a press but i bet it could be done.

correct me if i'm wrong (and i honestly might be, i'm not too familiar with my new rear axle yet) but the bearing presses on the axle shaft and the conical bearing sits in a race on the inside of the tube and a bearing retainer bolts on to hold the 2 together. i guess it is the press fit holding everything in... i dunno. about the tightest press fit you can have and still have a re-useable surface is .0015. i've worked with stuff that tight before and yeah it's tight but it can totally be done with a hammer.

If the bearing doesn't have a tight fit on the axleshaft, what's keeping the axleshaft in? The retainer puts force on the bearing to keep it in.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The looser the bearing fit is, the more adjustable your axle width is... who wouldn't want an adjustable-width axle that conforms to the terrain? This goes double for c-clips.

one of the classes offered at BSC... mark thats for you!!!!
I am glad that never found any course like that at my college (not saying they didn't have it, but I never found it). Though life would have been a lot easier (read: cheaper) if I went to BSC seeing as I drive by it every day now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm having a hard time getting myself to actually write this research paper with it being sunny out and the Jeep wanting some work done to it.

Depending on the price I may be very interested.

I was thinking about building myself something quite similar to that. That may be a VERY good starting point for me. how much were you going to be selling it for?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

8 billion dollars :dunno:

I don't even understand how those classes get approved.

Like seriously?

Maybe as extracurricular groups or something but credited classes?

Come on.
