I have a general idea of the number that is going to cost. Its going to hurt bad, very very bad.

yeah, im thinking somewhere around 800 but expecting the possibility of hitting 1000. the dude owes me a favor and i doubt he'll charge me for making a couple helpful cuts. im gunna order all the plate in 10ft sections and bring the portaband to cut the 40's into smaller 10-20 footers to put on the trailer

i heart mine less, its an older style that has more blade wonder and doesnt have the correct mounting holes to make it into a vertical bandsaw.

I'm still not fully awake. Can't wait for this wkend. Hopefully it's nice. I'm thinking sat I need to head up to Worcester to see if that used tool place has any 1/2" chuck tap wrenches. Then going to do any number of the following:
-Steering on XJ
-Find a shop that is open and can press on bearings, then pull shafts and get them taken care of, and do brakes on XJ (that's been my problem so far, most shops local to me are closed on sat, need to find one that isnt)
-Tear down the motorcycle, clean carbs, address vib in gas tank cover that's just getting annoying, etc.
-Go to motorcycle shop and spend too much $$ on jacket/pants
-Get lazy, take a nap, make no progress on any vehicle.

Colin - had to stop making noise at 2100, let me know specs by tomorrow night and I'll cut/bend it up then. Text would probably be better because I ignore the internet shocked while metalworking usually.

No problem man, I totally forgot. I went to Ross's and picked up the drill press with him at Lowe's. By the time I got home it was around 9 and I basically just ate dinner and went to bed.

I'll shoot ya a text later on tonight, though it might not be until like 10 p.m. I don't expect you to make it that late :laugh:. I'll see if I can get some measurements from my brother since he's home.

Yeah but we're splitting it almost 3 ways so I'm not worried about it too much. That's going to be enough steel to pretty much do all the things i want to to the MJ including the front crossmember, rockers, trans crossmember, plate all the rails, etc.

Really? I always thought the XJ seats were more comfortable than the ZJ seats, but that's just me. I'm also like 6'2" and was almost touching the headliner with the ZJ seats. They were nice, but so uncomfortable.

There is an 89 Limited at Sam's right now with full leather in fairly good shape. It's black/dark blue though.

haha, sounds like what I did after I finished welding... threw everything in the passenger seat of the MJ, hauled the drill press and welder upstairs, ate and passed out.

Managed to lose a substantial amount of skin trying to pull a gauge cluster of all things... that stung. I need a pair of mechanics gloves, and I really really hate cable driven speedometers.

yeah... even on a good weeknight I only get 4 hours of work in before I have to shut off the angle grinder/saw/drill, but it's better than nothing. Yesterday I was slowed down by that guy who was gonna buy the tires, but showed up and then didn't like them and still spent about an hour and a half talking and hemming and hawing about them. Tonight should be better.

I haven't worked on anything on a weeknight yet. I usually don't get home until like 6:00 at the earliest and almost always have homework to do.

Weekends I usually spend about 12 hours a day outside catching up though.

I can't wait until this grad school crap is over, then I'll have time after work to do crap.

Ya I don't know dude, something has to be wrong with that seat. I had lower back pains for a while, then I got my dad's car for 3 weeks, and i no longer had any back pains. Now I can feel my back hurting while diving.

You do. I was down in the garage working till quarter of midnight. I've got to do that every night from now on if I want a prayer of getting my XJ done in ~5-6 weeks.

That just reminded me of the one of the times you were riding shotgun in my jeep (was it NACfest...?) and you literally had to hunch over to keep from hitting the roof in the passenger seat :laugh:
