Ross, I might swing by later on tonight to check out that drill press. What time is that Lowe's open until? Like 9 or 10? I should be able to get down there by 7 if you're around.

It's going to take me a bit to get comfortable welding to the sheetmetal though.

colin: how low in RPM does it go? ross tries to drill metal like it's wood with his. if it can't go 200 rpm or less, don't bother.

it goes slow enough to put a 1" drill bit thru 3/4" plate AND all of my bits are in brand new shape with zero blems or chips or blueing from overheating. .!..!.

Only thing with that Briarwood the muffler fell off. Makes me think of tons of rust underneath which is what I'm trying to get away from. Might have to go look at it this week for the hell of it.

I was looking at this drill press. I emailed the guy and he said that the lowest speed seemed to be around 200 or so...

i like that. it's old. old machinery equipment is good. he says "Heavy." in the description. that's a good sign. and 9 speed combos. do it up.

yeah, that looked like a hell of a job to put back together...

I think I'm going to finally sell these tires (man, what is it about CL and people backing out of deals at the last minute after like a dozen emails exchanged?) and weld up the rest of the frame for my generator/compressor tonight.

Nope, you used crappy u-joints you should expect that.

correction, I did not use crappy u-joints, they were on there when i bought it:moon:

so now that im going to replacing all u-joints on my jeep, which ones should i go with?
