THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I gotta work on that, problem with my bike I drag pegs far sooner than I would get to my knee (which I have done before) plus my bias ply tires don't take quite as kindly to super aggressive riding. Then again I haven't tried to push these new tires at all since they are still in their break in period, but even after only 20 miles I can feel that they will be nice. :) lately I have been thinking of selling the XT, selling the altima, buying an older vette for summers (found a 96 vette, 46k miles, in great shape for just under $6k), Jeep for winters, and buying the Triumph speed triple that I want. I might even consider selling my FZX700 though that would depend on how comfortable the speed triple is (if comfortable enough for a long ass ride I would sell the fazer)

i wouldn't want to drag my knee on a bike that's like a million years old.

and stop flip-flopping vehicles...or talking about it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

meh too lazy and tired... i rode 1 hr 45 mins each way to the course that i rode all day at. it's bed time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the thing with dragging knee is that you shift your weight to keep the bike more upright to be able to go faster through the turn. why not get a bike that's easy to get parts for? triumph tripples are sweet, but have fun getting parts cheaps.

I understand what it's all about... but I even did a bit of shifting last summer and caught my peg  actually I may have caught my boot (which was just below the peg), I don't quite remember.. but still, I was pretty close. My bike is just kinda quite low. Not that I even push the bike hard at all. I REALLY don't want to dump this bike. It's lookin pretty nice for its age and I want to keep it that way

My new tires def raised the front a bit (which is why I am dropping the forks, to compensate). My rear may have been raised a touch as well. I am thinking about picking up the rear suspension from Vmax since that is a bolt on, gives more adjust-ability, and raises the rear about an inch. Then I want to drop a few spokes on the rear gear (or go up one or 2 on the front) to [over]compensate for the slightly larger rear tire.

And I have just always loved the speed triple. Yeah I know it would be a bitch to get parts but I love it. I was torn between a speed triple and a buell (I think it was one of the versions of the XB12) but then buell was cut and that makes me sad. I think I heard that the parts will still be supported for a good long while at least though so maybe I will pick one up used. I'll prolly keep my eyes open this summer incase I find a steal, but not really start shopping till later in the fall when people start selling out of season.

Edit: And I owned the altima for 2 years now, I learned I don't like it and want to sell.. not a flip flop really. And the XT has been owned for 2 years... I bought a 2nd bike and dont need anymore, not a flip flop at all. And the FZX... well yeah, maybe thats a flip flop :shhh: But only because if I sold off all my other stuff I could afford a newer bike and may take advantage of that.

First: Did they get manual ZJs? Or does it just sound like shit going from reverse to drive? or is it just me? If I had a manual ZJ available to me I would be all over that right now. I'm fairly certain that would be my DD.
Edit: I'm pretty sure somewhere got a ZJ with an AX-15. WTF AMERICA WHERE IS MY GOOD ZJ!?!? GOD DAMN LAZY FAWKS, but i digress

Second: Are they just hanging out in a back road/alley with a glass of beer?

Third: lol

I have no idea about manula ZJs, would be sweet if they did though. But the noise is just the brakes squeaking. My Jeep does it too when I'm rolling down a hill slow with the brakes on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Doesn't Justin have and ax-15'd ZJ?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my dad's friend used to do bike racing, and he's got a picture floating around somewhere of him doing a lean kinda like that, going like a buck twenty maybe? stupid fast. he doesn't race anymore though, he had crashed at like 140 and broke his back, lucky to be alive. so now he builds bike engines!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

6) Includes number 2 above and means Mark will stop whining and work on the Jeep at least one day out of each weekend so we stop hearing about it.
I don't think the no whining part will ever happen. Keep dreaming there Colin.

7) give up, sell green jeep, and listen to happy parents?
That would honestly make them the happiest I'm sure.

Mark, please see my new user title.
Haha, Nice.

I really want the RigidCo bumper, I've always been in love with them.

Ross, do you have any possible ETA on when you're going to get those tires vulcanized?

I think I should get the green jeep back together, and take it for a ride when I get the 36's before I pull it apart for welding. Doesn't matter much, as there is a 1 month back up currently, which isn't bad at all.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

when i get off my ass :D

in a hurry?
Only if you want #6 to happen, I would suggest you getting off your ass :D

A set of Toyos with a spare will sell better than a set of Toyos themselves.

I'm not saying do it tomorrow or Monday, I was just curious as to when you were planning.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Shut up Mark and start working on your jeep. I have to pull my engine to drill and tap 4 holes just to put it right back in. See me complaining? You bet your ass it's gonna get done ASAP too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

early first year 93 zj's got an ax-15
Yeah, I found that a bit after I made that post, that early model had them.... but I just didn't get the details. Thanks. Regardless there are none for sale within 200 miles according to autotrader :(

He wouldn't want to give a super awesome deal to NAXJA to build me a super awesome engine for my bike would he? :D On that note I really shouldn't spend any more than I have to on this bike since it may get sold in 2-3 years. but still... it's a great bike and a super awesome nice engine would be.. nice

He does. It isn't a stock AX15'd ZJ though. He dropped it in.

It all about knowing people. I'm willing to bet with the right offer Justin will part with his. It's just sitting in the yard down the road from me right now.

Sounds like a plan to me. Get to it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Gah, so driving my mothers suburban into work I found that it has a horrible brake vibe above like 50-60 mph. I LOVE how my mother must just ignore the fact that her brakes are warped. Oh and I also realize that pretty soon I will be doing brakes on a suburban.

Now that I am paying rent I think it's about time I start charging for labor. Whats the going rate?
