THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just bought 15 feet of 1.5" poop pipe, 9 feet of 0.5", two 300lb wheels and a stick of 5/8" steel rod. The frame for the 2.5L air compressor needs to go together ASAP!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

20ft of 3x3 3/16 angle
20-24ft of 2x6 3/16 rect
20ft of 2x2 1/4 box
20ft of 1ft wide 1/8 plate

think thats enough for two jeeps to get completely stiff and boatsides? if i remember correctly, its like jsut a touch over 5ft on each side for the rockers, i gotta double check with Bill
Ouch, that is going to be costly. That 2x6 ain't cheap.
I used just under 6ft per side. So yeah, just over 5ft would be right. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was also going to use some 2x6 to build a new front xmember since mine is toasted.

i was thinking of using 2x4 instead. how tall is the factory one?

hopefully not too bad, my guy will cut me a good deal when i pay cash. last time, it only cost me like $80 for 20ft of 2x4 1/4 rect

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

NICE! That is about what I pay for plain old BoA checks (which used to be free).

yeah, i'm getting checks for my BoA account. i have heard some horror stories about them but i have yet to have a bad experience... i got these (link)

ps, bill, you like pantera? i'm impressed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, just use an actual 2x4. Then you can call your jeep a woody.

If I used my checks for anything aside from rent and home offer deposit checks I might run out sooner... I think I have like 3 books of them left.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have to check how much i have left but i should already have enough of that. I know most of whats left is techincally Mark's but........

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scott, how are you transporting said tubing? got room for 1 more stick? i'll toss some gas $ your way.

in completely other news, i'm almost out of checks. tempting: http://www.styleschecks.com/shop/pr...bcategoryName=ALLCHECKS-SC(Base)&CategoryCode
Nice, I kindof wish I saw pantera checks :laugh3:... I am running NASCAR checks (and debit card) right now. Though my debit card is shot and I never applied for my nascar credit card.
my debit card
nascar_dc.gif

and my checks are basically the same thing but just a bigger pic

mmmm......DOM

i guess i should buy all the plate/angle first
I am thinking about picking up plate/angle/box at the same time as my DOM. But then again I can pick all that up locally so I may not.
Right now I am looking at approx:
20 ft of DOM (I will be using just shy of 4 ft for tie rod, 3 ft for drag link, 3 ft for track bar... and selling Billy the other 10 ft)
12 ft 2x6x3/16 rect tube
20 ft 3x3x3/16 angle
?? ft (shouldnt need more than 10 but didn't take measurments yet) of 1.5x1.5 (or 2x2)x3/16 square tube

20ft of 3x3 3/16 angle
20-24ft of 2x6 3/16 rect
20ft of 2x2 1/4 box
20ft of 1ft wide 1/8 plate

I think my measurement from LCA bracket all the way up to the rear leaf bracket thingy was approx 10 ft per side IIRC.. so I am guessing 20 ft of 3x3 angle per Jeep. I may be wrong though, my measurements were done 2 weeks ago.

Can you maybe get a good deal on some angle and rect tube for someone else who needs steel as well?

10ft a side of 3x3 angle will work perfectly, i jsut decided not to use angle out back anymore. center sections only, plate will be easier to shape in back.

Ill let you know about the metal, i wouldnt be this week though. hopefully i can at least get up there thurs/fri and get a quote from him and see what he has in stock.

I think that I have a good idea of how to cut and easily form the angle out back... at least I hope my plan will work OK. Time will tell.

And not this wk is 100% OK. I need to get steering and brakes done first, then get inspection, then do rockers (idk how well an inspection station would like high clearance rockers/boatsides). But if you get it within a couple weeks that's awesome because I can at least motivate myself to work on the rig and get the stuff done by late may for lobsters. Thats the goal at least.... Let me know what your pricing can be and I will be able to get you cash for it if the pricing is good :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

On a side note I just had a glass of glenlivet Nadurra (cask strength) scotch (115.4 proof) and have a bit of a buzz.

I just poured a 2nd glass of a different scotch thinking I would have a glass, take a shower, and pass out. I never had this 2nd kind before and the bottle is shaped differently.. the bottle looked empty for the most part... well I got quite a decent glass out of that, alot more than expected :gee: at least it's still early. I love scotch.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have one you can have foh free, i do not guarantee its condition.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm...... how bad do you think it is? I just want to get the green jeep goin and that chain is REALLY stretched.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i don't think it's too bad, but rob did wheel it...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I will be pulling my t-case soon (read: as soon as I get a V8 ZJ front drive shaft). I am aiming to get the driveshaft at the all you can carry if at all possible. If Anthony's is shot then you can try using mine, though mine may also be shot.

The last time I drove the XJ I thought I was hearing some strange sounds while coasting with no load on gears or coasting/decelerating in neutral. It may very well be the t-case since I feel like my case was "full" with VERY little fluid (aka half as much as it should have taken) although I didn't hear the sound when I did a quick 2 mile drive the other day. Idk what in the t-case is shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if something is. :dunno: I will pull it apart and let you know (if you haven't already ordered parts). I am swapping in a T-case with SYE as soon as I get the driveshaft so I will tear down my old one for spare parts and eventually for a doubler.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh boy.... hahaha I'll take it though anything is better than what i have. hopefully one of them is good
