THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i like when my mask darkens before the light burns my eyes thank you very much

My eyes are more sensitive than most( I can't handle sunlight ), looking at a torch flame messes me up for hours. Seeing one flash of someone welding by accident gives me a headache. HF helmet works fine :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Delcity order in.

25 ft 1AWG welding cable
Plenty of 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2" heavy duty copper terminals
4ft of 1/2" and 3/4" heat shrink tubing
Plenty of solder slugs (can't wait to try these)

Probably not going to do any of this until the harness is actually in the MJ, but it also looks like I can bypass the PDC and run the 175A fuse by itself.

i know what i'm doing for my shifter handles. :D beer tap handles.

Not gonna lie I kindof agree... except I don't have HF I have a cheapo online one (was more expensive than the HF). The inexpensive online one worked fine for my MIG welding. I never had an issue with it darkening and did significantly better than the $100 home depot crap that I picked up on short notice to get me through the afternoon. I can't say my eyes are super sensitive but I never had any issue with the cheap one I got except that it broke somewhat easily, and my eyes didn't bother me at all even after a full day of welding (the first day I ever welded for more than a couple min)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those came out of 90s or later F-series trucks... F150s or F250s, not sure.

Look on the passenger side of the firewall where the heater core lines would be if it was an XJ. They'll be inboard of a large contactor.

I picked up a boatload of them and a few of the contactors, if I ever get around to mounting that little winch I got from Steve I'll be using them to build a bigger controller so I can drop in a real winch without screwing with the wiring at a later date. Otherwise, I'll be using them to build something or other fun :dunno:

EDIT: Colin, just realized something... you tore out your power window wiring and stuff. How are you gonna make your windows go up and down again? Moving the regulators from Tinky Winky?

I'm pretty sure it darkens the same however many fractions of a second as a more expensive one. The controls and headband adjustment are just as convenient. Like I said though it feels cheap so I'm just careful with it. Not something I want to have with me at a shop. If I were to weld professionally I'm not bringing along a HF helmet.

MJ has 0 power options.

Tore out the power options from Carmelo's harness that was in my garage.

Hmmm. Once I get my stuff squared away and make sure I have as many left as I need, sure.

I would fix that, but I'm about to leave work and I'll be passing out as soon as I get home and switch the laundry over...

Oh. I guess I got confused about which wires came from where then :looney:

Yea, I agree. I toasted my online cheapo pretty quick catching the solar panel on the LCA mount. It's great for around the garage though. I am planning on getting another. My home depot one is non-adjustable or anything which kindof pisses me off. I prefer to keep it a touch darker. And actually the one I got was off overstock and had one of the quicker "light->dark" times of any I saw

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you pay more than $35 for the HF one you're getting ripped off.
