THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I had a trailer I would show up with my rig on said trailer so I could maybe get some help tapping my steering.... I'm real worried I am going to fawk my taps up since I haven't done anything this big yet, even willing to pay for some help from someone who knows what they are doing and could do it w/o breaking my shit. :( But if I had a trailer I would pull my rig up with a suburban and would have plenty of room to fit all the parts you would ever want me to bring.

...so find me a trailer and I can move shit for ya :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sorry, I need to STILL do the brakes in the Blairwitch. Got it all set and went to bleed when one of the bleeder valves broke off.

I have no clue where I can fit all you're stuff, and even less of a clue where I can get all the tires. I can't fit the tires in the Blairwitch, and the green Jeep isn't in commision yet.

Well get the brakes taken care of Friday night, and you can lay the rear seat down and put the bumper in, followed by the doors/glass. Don't worry about XXXXing up the doors, I just want them for trail/half doors anyhow. And I'll donate tarps to the "keep the Blairwitch clean" effort for the tires. If all the air was out of em, I'm sure they'd fit... I moved 5 37s on wheels in the back of my XJ before with some space to spare. Better yet, if you had a utility trailer of some sort, we could just stack 'em and strap 'em.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So a 7/8" TRE tap prolly needs a 3/4" tap wrench... does anyone know a good source for one of those (however long I will need it, I haven't done much tapping other than real small stuff yet, not sure how long of a bar I will need for something as big as 7/8"). Looking for a good source of the tap wrench and cutting fluid...

you could probably get away with using an adjustable wrench. the *best* way to tap tube however, would be to clamp it up in a lathe and use a tap center in a drill chuck to keep it centered in the tube perfectly

Well I think having a tap wrench would be easier than an adjustable, and by easier I also mean that I would be less prone to fawking up. And I would love to use a lathe and such but I kindof don't have one available to me. Again, one of the reasons I would be fully willing to pay someone to help me out. If someone has the tools/equipment available and could tap them out pretty quick..

Your parents getting on your case to move stuff out?

I would love to throw it all on a trailer or something, but unfortunately the trailer hitch is no longer on the blairwitch.

Also, remember the only times I can pick up/ drop off stuff at my house is on the weekends, and I have been driving 3 kids to work. So I can't have doors/tires sit in my Jeep all week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do you want a free trailer hitch? I have one that I am selling for the very free price of free.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin - just a heads up. Just checked and the fuel pump is different 2.5 TBI vs 4.0 MPFI in my 88-90 parts catalog... from what I am seeing the 2.5 TBI puts 14.5psi into the injector and requires 31psi at the FPR input while the 4.0 with MPFI puts 31-39psi into the injector rail, implying more than that on the input...

I'm not sure if you can use them, and you likely want new, but I have a 96 fuel sender and a 97-01 fuel sender that you can cannibalize for a higher pressure pump if you want. Neither will just bolt in, though. I may also have a spare fuel pump locking ring (not sure it'll fit, ordered it to fit my 91 MJ) which you can have, the new tank I bought from Steve came with a locking ring and I wasn't expecting it to.

Nah, not getting on my case really. I just want to get the bumper/winch on there :) And I feel bad having your stuff sit at my house that you paid for months ago. They can stay as long as you want em there, I just figured you would want them at your place. What's your schedule coming up for when you'll be at the cape? Maybe one of those days I can borrow my dad's truck and toss the tires in and cruise down and trade stuff if you could spare a few bucks (or a 6 pack cause I'm a big boy now ) to split the cost of gas or whatever.

No problem dude, I was already planning on a new fuel pump/etc.

As of right now, I may keep the stock tank. I might end up with a cell in the bed though. Haven't thought too much about it yet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok, cool. Let me know what you want (if anything) from my junk pile :roflmao:

I discovered this while looking through the FSMs going "if I use these pumps I have... am I gonna blow up the FPR on the 2.5? hmmm...."

I'm all set thanks anyways. I just took it off to clean it up since it was all rusty.

Well know, you didn't say anything about your bumper....

Ha, don't feel bad, its not like I can use them anyways, the jeep has been sitting for months too.

I'll be at the cape this weekend at least for a portion of it, since I need to get mine running and give my dad back his car.

If you would want to borrow your dad's truck, I would definitely thrown in a 6 pack or two. It makes it easier on my car too, I don't know how much the rear leafs would like all that weight, they are kind of shot.

I dont even want to know what my parents are going to say when they come outside and see another set of tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, so I have one bolt broken off in my frame rail. I am thinking that I'm not even going to bother trying to remove it because I will be welding on the stiffeners, and then the clayton bracket will be welded onto those, so I really don't need the two bolts on that side.

So question of right now, Do I spring for the Miller Elite, or do I get the Miller performance series?

Whatever you get, I still vote for getting a solid color and having it pinstriped. Because pinstriping is the shiz

And about this weekend, I *might* be able to go down there on Saturday with my dad's truck, but I have no idea if he needs it for something else or whatever. I'll check with him and let you know, though.

we had one of the bolts break on johnnys rig when we did the clayton install, no issues so far

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

EDIT: anyone got a '90 FSM I could borrow for a bit? I want to find out how much trouble I'm getting myself into while building this air compressor. I'm a RENIX tard and the 4cyl + TBI are completely foreign to me, so I'm going to need all the info I can get.

I have a pirated copy I can email you:shhh:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my new boss that is a HF freak has one of thier helmets. it took all of 2 seconds to for him to realize my real welding helmet was infinite times better. Im slowly getting him to now hate HF :D

I have one and love it. It's an awesome mask and a ton of people use it. I've never read about someone not liking it. The only reason I can think of to not buy one is longevity. It's not rugged at all. I think that's what mark is going for...
