Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Gah, I REALLY just want to leave work right about now.

- 10.5" diameter, 10 spline, 1.063" diameter clutch disc
- 10.5" diameter pressure plate
- Stock 4.0 flywheel
- 81-82 CJ-7 2.5L slave cylinder
- Stock AX-15 master cylinder
- Throwout bearing not sure about yet, I think 81-82 CJ-7
all sounds good, if you get a stock stle manifold make sure its one of the ones witth the flex tube on the #1&6 pipes to prevent cracking in the futureSo I think tomorrow I'm going to go to my parts guy and order everything I need for the NP435 (he's great at cross referencing parts based on dimensions/part numbers) and also I'm going to order up the gaskets (all Fel-Pro, had great luck with them) I need for Travis's old 4.0:
Valve Cover (Cork/Rubber = $6, Rubber/metal insert = $40...I think I'm going to stick with cork, just have to retorque the bolts every couple months)
Oil Pan
Rear Main
Timing Cover/Front Main
Oil Filter O-rings (dealer I guess? Anyone know where to get these online?)
Intake/Exhaust
I think I'm just going to go with a stock style replacement manifold as they're cheap. I have an APN on my XJ and didn't notice a difference at all. Also, not going to bother with the 99+ intake swap. Didn't notice much gain with that either.
Thoughts?
Thoughts - rubber/metal valve cover gasket :twak: :spin1:
RockAuto has the OFA O-rings, not sure the set they have fits though, I'll tell you when I get my shipment. Set cost me under 6 bucks, not sure exactly.
Other than that... is it leaking anything around the distributor? I'm leaking so much oil that I just bought all the common ones and I'm going to replace gaskets till the problem goes away. RockAuto has the distributor gasket for less than 2 bucks too.
EDIT: my fel-pro rubber/metal valve cover gasket cost me 33 on rockauto.

I'd use the green or the purple ones. The die cast ones look nice but I don't like cast materials when I can avoid them due to brittleness.PM me the PN for the o-rings when you get it, I'll probably snag those and maybe the distributor gasket. His 4.0 was pissing oil out of every orifice so I wouldn't be surprised if it needs it.
As for the valve cover gasket, IDK, I've never had a problem using the cork gaskets up there. I've done a couple of them and they never end up leaking. I guess it probably IS easier to get the rubber/metal one.
I'm also going to make a list of all the wiring I need to order from DelCity on Saturday too. I believe there's about 6 wires I can upgrade...

Ken, which lugs would you run?

I'm probably going to order a couple loom clamps as well since the factory used ziptie push pin type deals and those are all broken/trashed.
X2, I want my rockauto order, according to fedex it'll be here tomorrow though :yelclap:ups better hurry the XXXX up, i wanna tear apart a 70, i may have to run to home depot and get a shitload of sutoff blades, i think the drums will need to be cut off the 70

Nope :dunno: You could probably make one custom, or simply get a strip of copper of the right thickness and bore two holes in it to bridge the two together then use a single-hole terminal. Let me know if you want to do that, I have assorted copper stock in ~4" square pieces ranging from .031" to around 3/32" iirc. Thanks for the info Ken.
One other thing, do you know of anywhere that has a terminal with two 6mm holes? My PDC from Carmelos XJ has that setup. Spaced about .750" apart.
HELL YES!!! YOU ARE GOING TO KICK EVERYONE'S ASS!!!
ross, awesome deal.
Now those are some badass tires
Can I hug them?! They're almost my height, and on wheels I bet they weigh as much as me.
Sweet dude!
Good choice on the TEN Factory shafts.
300M double splined shafts for the 14b though? That is HUGE bucks.
Not mine!![]()
No, on mine...
This is what it looks like right now. I was thinking about hacking the upper grill guard part off and reusing it on a bumper that I build.
Wow... you really went to town on that thing!
Oh well, I guess I'll end up just building one. It'll be the last thing I do though.
Welding extras? What are those? No need to deal with that with TIG...![]()
