THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yep, and yours is wheeling too I see....

I won't bring Rob's green jeep into this argument, although I very well could.
yeah mine's got some work ahead. i wheeled more than once last year though. granted it was only about 4 or 5x... and i plan on wheeling it inside of 2010 too.

you just did bring robs green jeep into the argument. he just bought an atlas for it. you can't argue with that. and he was beating the crap of the sh!tbox that was the blue 93.

And it was amusing to say the least.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can quote posts in his build thread from years ago saying that he was going to be wheeling at NACfest years ago, before the blue Jeep came into play. (I know because I've done it in his thread already :D)

I plan on being wheeling inside of 2010 as well. I would have had half of the work I needed to get done finished last week if my brakes didn't decide to go out, and Ross actually gave my welder back.

Oh, and I don't need an Atlas, or a doubler...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this is true, i remember him talking about having it ready 3 or 4 nacfests ago.

that stinks bout the extra work.

but atlases and doublers are sweet.

I'm quite sure I have just as much work to do on the Honcho as you need to do to the green jeep. Race me.

NP435 > doublers.

:D
best thing about my doubler is the twinstickabilityness. but you'll get that with your dana 20. i am just doing it a lot cheaper...

Only if you work on the Honcho on the weekends, and stop working Sunday evening to allow dinner and for a 1.25 hr drive back to Boston.

Also through in the need to fix other cars first.

I think some people forget that is what I have to do. I don't live near my Jeep like you guys do.

I can't work on the Honcho during the weekends, only have 1,2 sometimes 3 days to work on it, same as you. I drive two pieces of shit, same as you. One runs good enough to drive, the other is well broken, same as you. The Honcho is far from me and my tools, not as far as you, but similar.

The race begins.

Very well sir, let the race begin.

Just so we are clear, the winner of the race is the one who takes the longest to get their jeep back together, correct?

You still have your Cherokee around?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey, don't mess up those poop welds. That's history right there. You are looking at Scott's progression of welding skills. Gotta keep it.

nope. my axle now. :moon:

well then give it back!

we don't forget what you have to do. we just forget that you're so good about complaining about it

I'd like to put money on this man winning the race, cause he doesn't waste time making lists of :rattle: matieral, and he gets shit done.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I guess:o

I might start the transmission tonight. The consensus is just slap it together, check endplay by hand and forget about it. I really should do homework instead but it's a damn nice day outside/in the garage.

Anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit for a dana 18 for -$50?

what are they out of? If it's something you could get at a regular parts store I can look into what I'd get it for. PM me if you want.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damnit, the race shop doesn't do tapping for TREs (I didn't really expect them to but i was hoping). Maybe I will have to order the threaded inserts and go with a larger diameter tube than I wanted. :( Either that or I will just stop by the machine shop and see just how much "pretty expensive" would be. Idk how long it would take them to tap the threads but at $80 per hour chances are it won't be cheap.

Anyone have any advice on other shop that might have 7/8-18 TRE taps?
