THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm hoping that by cutting the floor and whatever else i need to i won't hit the starter. i really hope.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man, I wish my suspension came at the cost of my passenger's comfort. That's the one area where leaf spring suspensions are lacking. Other than that they are far superior

Measure. Re-Measure. Test Fit. Re-Measure. Walk away and have a cold one. Test Fit. Measure. Get someone else to measure. Test fit. Tack. Measure. Then burn the mount home.

My UCA clears my starter by just less than 3/8" when flexed.

yeah, that's what i'm going to have to do. the axle side mount is already burned home, but i could get away with a little less separation there. right now there is a lot, and i'm going to be reworking some of the ghetto bracketry travis and scott pooped out when they put the mounts on.

you should just cut a hole and weld in a big awkward dome right in the middle of where their feet go. when they ask wtf it's for, tell them it adds a few thousand horses.

Hey, don't mess up those poop welds. That's history right there. You are looking at Scott's progression of welding skills. Gotta keep it.

Maybe I'll make my twin sticks come through the center of the passenger floor. I make them 3 feet long so they're right in their face.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ah, didn't realize Turner didn't have much tube. I have only been there once and didn't spend much time wandering around to get a good idea of what they had. plus I figured they may be able to order something if they don't carry it in stock. I will have to call and find out

Incorrect sir.
It comes it pretty much every size you can imagine, you just have to be willing to pay for it.

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/1.25-X-.281-Wall-DOM-Tubing-p-503.html

Call around Scott. I'm sure someone around here can get it.
Beat me to posting the link. I knew I had seen that size, just wasn't sure where and I was going to google it. and yes I will be calling around. I am waiting for the conference room behind me to open up so I can step in and call a few machine shops to see if they can drill/tap the DOM for me. If I find one that says yes for a reasonable price I will call around for tube. If I can't a shop I will pick up 1.5" (or 1.625") OD .250 wall and use threaded inserts. I wish ruffstuff had 1" ID inserts rather than the 1-1/8" inserts :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I just called the machine shop and was told they could do the parts but it would likely be pricey due to the low quantity (I figured that would be the case). He said I should stop in to the race shop next door to him since they are always doing that type of stuff... how did I live 23 years of my life and not know there was a race shop down the road from my house and I drive past it every day? Not that I have much need to go there.... but just the fact that I didn't know it was there in the first place :wierd:

So I will be calling them later, hopefully I get lucky and they have something.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark's response when asked when his green jeep will be wheelable.

:D

Nope, that is way too soon for that. 6 years minimum.

yet, as time goes by the response stays the same.

Yep, and yours is wheeling too I see....

I won't bring Rob's green jeep into this argument, although I very well could.
