THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i stayed up way too late last night..

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not bad for a chain store. I pick up all my "scrap" from turner steel like 10 minutes from me. I've been meaning to stop by soon. I've never been charged more than $10 regardless of what i've left there with. If you needed something I would have kept an eye out and just added it to my crap. Since Ross found me a big ole stick welder I'm going to need alot of thick scrap.
If you stop by turner in the [very] near future would you mind checking out how much they want for 1.25x.281 wall DOM?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Should I fork out the money to buy JKS mini skids or can i make my own without the bends and booger weld them myself. If I make my own I don't really feel like making the bends, I could, I just don't really feel like it. You think flat stock with be easy/secure enough?

Weld the inside of the stock LCA axle mounts and then plate the underneath of them with .188".

You'll be fine.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah don't bother buying those.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I obtained a free As seen on TV Windshield Wonder last night. They were handing them out to everyone as they were leaving the Devils game. Woo microfiber cloth on a stick... must be making tons of money on that one.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I hear skid plate I think transfer case skid. I didn't know it was those silly little LCA things. Forget all that reinforcement talk.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not only will they not have something like that, but DOM doesn't come in sizes like .281 wall. the closest you're gonna get is either .250 wall or .313 wall. structural stuff comes in 1/16 increments, not really any finer than that. some stuff is in 1/8" and 1/4" increments too, depending on how big it is.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They don't stock alot of tube/pipe there. It's all building materials there. So just about everything is 1/4" or thicker and mostly I beams, angles and square tubing.

Incorrect sir.
It comes it pretty much every size you can imagine, you just have to be willing to pay for it.

Call around Scott. I'm sure someone around here can get it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a big hammer and my Dad's shop has a DIY press break thingy. It's just the super lazy/too many ideas going on in my that makes me want to do it simple and almost effective.
Oh come on Keith. Its like a 2min job to make those bends. :laugh2:
Does it also come in every size I can imagine!?
Probably not. :D

hmm, interesting. i guess it doesn't surprise me. i dunno how cost effective it would be to go to the crazy sizes though. and i didn't realize .281 was 9/32. makes a little more sense that that would be available.

apparently it contains a plethora of knowledge that sometimes is wrong :farmer:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

poly performance's prices on DOM really aren't that bad. i probably should just order a stick and use what i need and keep/sell the rest.

btw bill: i decided to cut my floor big time. don't care bout the passenger foot well.

my suspension design > passenger comfort

Their price isn't bad until you factor shipping.

My pass floor is cut as well, I'm just not looking forward to re-closing it back in.

Exactly.
