THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Or you can take free wagoneer box(better than a gay YJ box) $30 to rebuild it and tap it yourself and be ahead of the game.
good point, you have a waggy box layin around? i do still have the waggy box from the blue jeep even though i think its completly XXXXed from the shot it took at the gutter

For you, of course:patriot:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

By the rules the car was too heavy, but tech inspection consisted of the guy asking me if it was a 4cyl and if the gas tank was drilled so it could only hold 4 gallons. when all the cars were lined up before the race, the other drivers were walking by and commenting on how my car was going to be hard to knock out of the race. People were hitting me, and not having any affect, but when I hit them back, they went for a ride
Nice :laugh3:

I had one friend who still lives locally whose parents wouldn't care about a junker in the yard (I would throw them a few $$ and call it a day). That friend essentially moved in with his GF a couple months ago so I feel strange calling his parents and asking to keep a car at their house for the summer until it's derby time. Esp since I am calling them tomorrow to ask if I can keep an XJ there until it's fixed and I can keep it at my house when I sell my car.

For you, of course:patriot:

Man, I gotta get the Jeep fixed and out wheeling so I can get in on all this man love that's going around :smootch: I feel like the new guy whose all left out and such once in a while. On the other hand maybe that's a good thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I have two I don't remember. I can't remember if it's metric threads with O ring or SAE and a flare or both. Even if it's a flare you can chop off your metric BS and flare the end of the line and put a SAE fitting on the end. That's what I'm doing when I swap to a J20 box in the Honchonstein.

oh damn thats right. im supposed to be going down to marks one day and i was thinking of having a party the other. i also have to get more metal as i dont have enough large pieces to make them.

i have a piece of 1/4" x 3" x 3' kicking around i picked up to make some shock tabs from, should be enough. keep me posted on when you're free, i just want them operational by the next wheeling trip

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you need more 1/4" I can pick it up cheap

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Should I fork out the money to buy JKS mini skids or can i make my own without the bends and booger weld them myself. If I make my own I don't really feel like making the bends, I could, I just don't really feel like it. You think flat stock with be easy/secure enough?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i had actually gotten it at fastenal, might have been $8 for a 3 foot long stick.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you reinforce it I'm sure it'll work good. Just plain flat stock without anything behind it will bend when you hit it even if it's thick.

Not bad for a chain store. I pick up all my "scrap" from turner steel like 10 minutes from me. I've been meaning to stop by soon. I've never been charged more than $10 regardless of what i've left there with. If you needed something I would have kept an eye out and just added it to my crap. Since Ross found me a big ole stick welder I'm going to need alot of thick scrap.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmm, I think I have angle that is wide enough to fit over it now that I think of it...

You'll need more than one. If you've seen Ross's write up on making a gas tank skid do something like than on the upper part of the skid. Basically a bunch of angled steel pieces that are placed down the width of the skid.

Atleast that's what I plan to do with the J10. I already have a flat belly so no bends to make for me.:moon:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Keith - I have big hammer, will travel. Those mini skids should be easy to make, I straightened out a bent d30 inner c with a couple solid whacks the other week.

I've been considering the same since I had to straighten the lca brackets on the same axle with a pair of vise grips before the lca would fit in. Once is enough for me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a big hammer and my Dad's shop has a DIY press break thingy. It's just the super lazy/too many ideas going on in my that makes me want to do it simple and almost effective.

You stay away from turner! Or at least share the wealth. I would rather share than compete since they are also local the most local to me.. :)

i'm thinking if i do get one of these two jobs i'm gunning for at the moment, i'll be buying myself a welder and will teach myself to weld this summer with some tax return $$

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do it up, it really isn't that hard. Atleast MIG hasn't been for me. I've got a bunch of reading/watching material on my computer that i've stolen off the internet that I've learned from
