Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damn, that "How do I camp" thread has really got me wanting summer to get here so Mia and I can go camping... some good tips in there too :) Damn I love camping...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think i'm going to reassemble a D300 on my coffee table tonight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You've got a strong coffee table.

Mine would fold in half if I did that... thus the cement blocks and 1.5" angle stock :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

after i go through a pile of paperwork... ugh.

i should take a picture of it. it's solid oak. i got a matching end table, coffee table, and rocking chair. all in like new condition for $45. one of my aunts loves yardsaling. she'll call me and say "hey i found this, do you want it?" it's sweet for me cuz i hate shopping but love good deals and she likes shopping but doesn't need to buy stuff for herself.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So is there anyone in the MA/NH area (that lives close to peabody MA) who would be willing to take a ride and look at a Jeep for me since it's quite a hike from my place? Apparently the thing is very clean with one small rust spot, the door latch mechanism in the truck is hit or miss, the drivers window motor is weak and has a hard time putting the window up.... and the gearbox issue... apparently first and second gear synchros are shot. I was told it drives very well but once you stop it won't go into first or 2nd and you have to start from 3rd gear.

on that note, Anthony... how hard would replacing those synchros be? :laugh3: IIRC you said 2nd (and maybe first) was a PITA to get to and replace.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, 1st and second suck balls to replace. i have 2 good ones though, you could have the parts for some beer. but it's like another 2-3 hours work to do those.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just remember when looking at that one that it quite possibly was in a frontend collision so look at the front rails behind the bumper for damage. Also he says it has a new radiator which would go along with the collision but if it ran out of coolant there's the cause of your engine problems, which could be numerous. Just food for thought.
Yeah I was thinking that, and i may pass on that one.even if it is straight,it may need a motor, and Im lacking a garage and engine hoist at the moment.

And on a side note, the guy who is selling my old xj dropped the price considerably,so I may buy it.Maybe.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've got an engine hoist you can borrow if you need to. Can't help with the garage bit though :(

Alright, thanks. I'll keep that in mind. "an extra 2-3 hours" means what exactly? idk how much time comes before the "extra". hah.

But then again maybe just swapping out the trans wouldn't be a bad idea. That is if I get it at all. Still gotta find some way to look at it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So should i use a single layer of 1/4" or two layers of 3/16"? 1/4" should be enough but 3/16" should be a little easier to work and i wouldnt need to pre/post heat for the second layer. the other kicker is i currently have no more steel plate in my inventory, and i was planning on buying a bunch of 3/16" that will become the front and rear stiffeners.
