THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

he said they'd probably land me as a "mechanical developement engineer", whatever that really means, and most likely on mid size engines like the Dodge Ram CTD engine.
Awesome. Sounds much more interesting than this job I have right now. I am starting to wish I stayed an ME :)

And who would y'all recommend I go to for threaded inserts. I know about Ballistic Fab and they have what I need... but is there anyone else I should be checking into? Hoping to order and get the parts asap.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'd say get them from ruffstuff again. if you want them from BF, plan months ahead. i ordered my joints and stuff on 2/25. still hasn't shipped.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I already gave ruffstuff a quick look and didn't see the threaded rod ends available individually... i only saw them included with the heims.

Will have to give another look around on lunch or after work I guess. Must have just overlooked them on the site.

Edit: nvm, found them. Just doesn't have the exact size I wanted to use. That just means I need to rethink what tube I will be getting. If they even make the size I want.

Steve - I'd pass. Find a nice 97+ that someone not mechanically inclined is selling because "it needs a tranny rebuild and won't start" or something, throw a new CPS in it and build from there.

just had my phone interview with the recruiter from Cummins Diesel, and i think it actually went well! holy crap i think i'm getting better at those bullshit HR "behavioral" questions, like "give me an example of when you had a difficulty working with a person from a different cultural background" and other crap like that. he's passing my resume' along to a technical hiring manager and we'll see what happens from there, but i think i "passed" the HR part. word.

awesome :D I think you're gonna make Colin jealous though

I'm really hoping that is what is wrong with the '98 I am looking at. If I call up and the guy says "it doesn't run cause it needs gearbox adjusting" I am pretty sure I will be renting a trailer this wk :rof: Just need to find somewhere to store it while I fix it and sell the altima.

You can store it at my place, I'll even fix it for ya. But I make no guarantees you'll ever get it back.:D

I would love to take ya up on that but you're up in NH. Sorry. Then again the Jeep is up right near the MA/NH border...

Edit: I am really not looking forward to calling about this Jeep; I feel like this guy isn't going to understand half of what I am saying and I won't understand any of what he is saying. So when i ask what the gearbox problems are I will not be able to get a straight answer. Hopefully I am wrong, though i think I will wait until I am home this evening to call incase it turns into a long drawn out process.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was checking out Maryland craigs' and theres a xj wagoneer that has front drivers damage, and its pretty cheap. would prob have to throw a reg front clip on, since waggy xjs arent exactly a dime a dozen at the boneyards.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Im torn.
Should i leave it alone or pursue it?
I did build most of it and I had to sell it at the time,BUT, i do miss it.
-OR-
should i just pass on it?

That's been for sale for a little while now. I talked to the kid awhile back for a friend and I wouldn't bother with it, not for that price.

Sorry Colin looks like I'm sending the whole F250 to scrapyard, drivetrain and all.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

probably trying to recover the money he "invested" in that hurl-o-riffic paint job.

:puke:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You guys are awesome.:rof:
I just laughed pretty hard at those two posts.

He offered me cash+the xj for my mj....Ill have to pass on that too.I love my mj too much:loveu:

The search continues for an xj...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If the waggy is a good price, I'd pick it up and run a normal front clip till you can find a waggy one in the yard.

Also, it appears I punched the exhaust a little harder than I thought I did while attaching the diff breather hose to the UCA... I should have let it cool down. Speaking of which, anyone got a spare breather or should I just leave it alone till I hit the JY next? If I forget to pick one up then I might just shove a bic cap in it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's just regular hose that's dirt cheap at napa...

I've got the hose, just not the stupid plastic breather cap :( For now I'm just ignoring the fact that it isn't there and hoping I don't hit a big puddle.
