I don't need this much truck anymore. I'm trying to see if I can sell it to help out with some debt.

Recently rebuilt 5 speed tranny with new clutch (Professionally done)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oohhh that one. i remember that from when you posted it before.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that truck is pure sex, id add some low pro flat black stacks with miter cuts on them. add tow mirrors. remove steps. blackout wheels. make a grill.

i wish i could get that truck but its just not really that viable/needed. whenever i need to tow, i just take the dirtymax. now, when i get ready to move, thats when i wanna buy CTD

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wellllll looks like the little woman ditched me tonight, so I'll stay at work and attempt to get the J20 interior done so I can move on to the more important things. POR-15 floor here I come.

I forgot how fast the motorcycle is :D I really gotta spend time and clean/wax/polish her up sometime soon.

Note: I love clickable pics so I don't post huge pics

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've had actually a really good day today. my interview this morning went really well, and i should be getting a call monday or tuesday about going out to check out their facility in Harvard MA and talk to some of the higher ups. the location in Harvard where they're hiring a mech. engineer does almost all TARDEC work, and has done a lot of work on carnagie melon's CRUSHER (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qDo6ehxKds). would be totally rad.

i also got an email / phone call to set up a phone interview for monday with Cummins, for a potential job designing diesels. worrd.

and.. to top it off it's beautiful outside and i'm firing up the grill.

ahhhh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wtf, i want to go get my Jeep but I can't. god damnit.

The parents/brothers all disappeared somewhere, not really sure where. And my friend who essentially offered to go for the ride to pick it up is now MIA, probably got called by the girlfriend to go buy her booze or something.

Weak

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Got the Jeep back  and my god.. I have power again :laugh3:

Only thing I gotta work on now is that there seems to be a mean right hand pull and the steering feels super sloppy. Oh and either the trans or t-case makes funny noises at me while coasting. maybe syncros? no clue. Didn't seem to do it the last time I Was out driving but maybe I just don't remember it well. doesn't matter, it drove fine. It can make noise if it wants to I guess. Though I am hoping its my t-case. I feel like that didn't take enough fluid so it may be fawked up. That would be great if its the t-case cause I have another case to swap in soon.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my realistic goals for tomorow, clean up garage a bit as its a mess, seperat engine and trans from the 93, maybee get engine on a stand if i can get one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have an engine stand. i give it to you cheap

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Could allignment issues make the steering feel real sloppy with a huge dead spot?

I was thinking about it and I know the Jeep didn't have a hard right hand pull before I brought it into the shop for gears, and I def dont remember it feeling that sloppy. I drove several hours before swapping the axle and I felt fine, this time it just felt real bad.

I am going to do a driveway alignment tomorrow or sunday and see if that fixes anything (that is what I had before and worked perfectly with no issues at all). Im pretty sure that an alignment issue could cause the steering pull... but could that also be the culprit for my sloppy steering?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

they probably pulled the axle to install the gears. maybe something got screwed up in the swapping in/out process

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, so I just took the rear end of the green jeep apart.

First, that fluid looks awesome.

Second, what the heck is that?

Thirds, THE DAMN CARRIER LITERALLY FELL OUT! I'm so lucky I left one of the carrier bolts a few threads in, because that was the only thing stopping that from crushing me. I zipped the last bolt off, then all of a sudden the whole thing just started falling out, and was thankfully retained by that carrier bearing strap.

This makes me unhappy though, because where the hell is the carrier bearing preload, or are the bearings just that shot?

Fourth, I don't know what to make of the coloring on the pinion?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mark,

1st pic: mmmmmmm i <3 metallic green gear paint.

2nd pic: pinion contacting carrier you can see it in the last pic too.

why did you open it up in the 1st place? hearing funny noises?
