THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've never had trouble with those E12 bolts up there, and have already XXXXed around with them at least 3 times. did you use all 4+ feet of extensions to get in there?

yeah i used a shitload of extentions, but the bolts were on XXXXing tight, the pass side we got from above(its nice not having a head on the motor) the drives side i cut into the block with the sawzall throught the bolt then stepped on the back of the block and what was left of the block snapped off, worked real well, now i gotta deal with swapping suff over and putting it all back together

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i really like the idea of a 5 spd swap though but it would have a 360 in frt of it, hmm next winter maybee?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i like the idea of a mid 90's 360 due to the fact of having MPI with it 440's are nice but to much for me, maybee you can 1 up me atlas by havin a 440 mj

why not just pull the whole drivetrain? By the time you got the engine out you're really close to doing that anyways, aw4+231 is easy, a few bolts and some cables and wires and stuff plus the driveshafts... that's what I would have done anyways

EDIT: easier to bolt the torque converter and whatnot up while it's not in the vehicle too, and the CPS is way more fun

i didnt want to deal with all the other bullshit, and its more shit to XXXX up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey Mark - just looked in my FSM under section 8Q (vehicle theft security system) and it says that using the key to unlock the door should passively disarm the system, while using the RKE transmitter should actively disarm. I'm not sure why your alarm is going off unless it's an aftermarket unit. Direct quote:

EDIT: also, it looks like the factory system talks to the ECU even on a 91, so your best bet is to disable all the door sensors it uses as well as the method it uses to watch when the RKE system locks the doors and forget about the whole thing.

doesn't he already have one? I guess he has two now lol

Mark, another update, it isn't just you, the diagrams in the 91 FSM SUCK, shits giving me headaches, I don't think I've ever seen such confusing wiring diagrams in my life

100% positive that it is a factory keyless entry/alarm system. The "Security" light even goes on in the dash after I lock the doors. And I can tell you from experience a number of times, unlocking the doors with the key does set off the alarm.

I don't know what happened that day, but when I went to leave work and couldn't get the doors unlocked, I went back in, took the battery out, put it back together, and it unlocked on the first try a good distance from the car.

It has worked pretty much first or second time ever since that day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Interesting.

There are switches on the back of each lock cylinder from what I'm seeing in the manual, maybe they've gotten corroded and just don't work anymore so the alarm isn't seeing the lock open?

EDIT: this is gonna be an awesome week, I'm scheduled to get a package every day except Friday, Monday is jeep parts from Jeff, Tuesday is a new camera, Wednesday and Thursday are jeep parts from RockAuto, Friday is "I'm gonna pull apart a Jeep and do something with all these parts"

Went awesome, totally sold on getting a stick.

It all comes down to personal preference.

Thats cool.

The only reason i hate stick right now is cause red jeep sucks balls. The axle wrap going on creates too much jerking motions. it seems when its cold and been sitting for a day or two, that its a complete bitch in 1st.

But its all good cause now i get to drive an 8 speed in the boom truck :greensmok

.!.:D.!.
