THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wtf is up with people getting bonuses now, does the 'year end bonus' take several months to be given after the new year? maybe once the yearly #s have been calculated?? If that's the case then maybe I will still get something... oh come on good luck! :D

I don't know but I will NOT complain when the money tree decided to rain down on me!

I wouldn't either. I'm just hoping that maybe it's turning to fall and I'm standing under my money tree sometime soon. I get another pay check in 9 days... maybe with that... here's to hoping

Edit: kinda tempting for a cheap camcorder http://www.woot.com/

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my interview for tomorrow has been postponed a week, so it's now beer o'clock!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

fawk. I was just sitting at my desk and getting ready to throw my shoes on to go to get some beer...

...then my parents wandered in and told me need to "keep my door open so I can tell the girls when to go to bed" aka you need to stay home and watch them.

And everyone else in the house is gone, I never got to the packie since my parents were leaving as soon as they told me to watch the sisters. Some heads up would have been nice :banghead: someone bring me beer!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I really should cut open my old unit bearings from the 96 and see how badly pitted they are. Those were making some epic grinding noises on the highway right before I took them off.

Ken, let me know if they are worse than this one.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just spent 20 min browsing BF and drooling. And I found beer in the basement. Guess I don't need beer. Sweetness.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wahoo i got a bonus from raytheon too! and i'm not even working there, i'm still on "educational leave of absence" or some BS like that! I'm thinking... front locker time?

Aussie lockers are generally the best D30 lockers, right?

Good to know payroll is throwing our money away

I'd say a full case ARB/OX is the best D30 locker.

if he was quick enough he could of gotten the mighty lockrite from my blue rig, but i agree on the ox/arb deal, i dont think id run a ox though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Welded 1/4" with my welder today. PITA but doable

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wouldn't either.

This is where Mark jumps in and claims how awesome they are and how many people he's seen with failed ARBs.

Then I say you have to wheel to have an opinion in this conversation.

:D

failed arb's are due to bad installs, ask those who actually wheel

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I got to practice a bit today. Still learning but I'm getting alot better. It's a pain in the ass practicing on 1/4". My last one I beveled the edges, tacked it to another plate so I could heat it and immediately weld it vertically up. Heating it definitely was not necessary though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

but ya gotta deal with all the adj. bullshit when you pull it to change the fluid
Incorrect.

I have taken my rear cover off, and put it back on without needing to adjust the lever. Nothing is moving, you aren't adjusting the cable, so why would you need to adjust it if you pull the cover off?

Moot point, the covers come with drain and fill plugs.

I've seen more people with failed ARB's because I'm the first person I've seen with OX.

I've used them a few times, wheeling and on the beach, and I have no problems with it.

It would be nice to just hit a button and have a locker, because with the OX you have to be turning and rolling to engage it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Has anyone here actually seen an 8.8 spin the tubes because I've yet to find anyone who has. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I hear more talk about it then actually seeing it happen. I've also seen alot of thrashed 8.8's and there tubes were not welded. Just seems to be one of those things you hear more of then see.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

For just welding the tubes, you can get away with leaving them in but its not really that much more to pull the shafts and carrier to avoid anything. plus its lighter to move around.
hmmm, true. So long as I don't have to pull the damn pinion and then redo the preload I'm happy. Getting those brake rotors on was a pain in the ass because of the parking brakes, but I guess I can deal with pulling them apart again, I knew I was getting ahead of myself putting that stuff on.

I think my favorite so far is the guy who used an old pinion gear as a gearshift knob. It looked pretty badass.

Ken, let me know if they are worse than this one.

:scared: holy christ. Not that bad, they had about 1/16" of play in them and a definite grainy feeling when I spun them.

Same, but this is one of those things where I'd rather play it safe than sorry personally... and those damn pounded-in pegs had me suspicious from the get go.

ruffstuff order was on the stairs when I got home :D:D:D now I just need to pick up that 8.25 in 2 weeks and yank the rusty, beat turdy five out of the MJ for good.

hey i'm still an employee (technically, they don't want to burn bridges)! the bonus wasn't even close enough to a selectable, so what I meant to say was the best lunchbox locker. I know it's on the fence with a lot of people between Lockright / Aussie, and I'll probably just order one tonight, get that shit in for next week wheeling!

edit: and actually if I were to get another selectable, I'd probably get another ECTED sine I love mine. but they're way more expensive than they used to be! I got my ECTED for like $550 shipped. now they're $650+ plus shipping in most places I've seen
