there is simply no argument that unit bearings are simpler to service than tapered roller bearings inside a hub on a spindle with seals up teh ying yang.

do not want ball bearings for a hub. (not for a vehicle i'm beating on anyway... my VW very well might for all i know)

I really should cut open my old unit bearings from the 96 and see how badly pitted they are. Those were making some epic grinding noises on the highway right before I took them off.

Anyone have grey door panels? I need some for my MJ, mine are fine but dont have the speaker thingies on them. Also if anyone has a 1 din stock jeep radio i'm looking for one of those too.

next axle i build will use unit bearings

XXXX old school burrins. gotta XXXX with all sorts of seals, sand down pitted/worn seal surfaces, stick my hands in icky kookoo bearing grease, pack that shit, etc. i want to just stick in a $150 chunk of metal that rotates

:thumbup: i get incredibly messy playing with the 60 stuff. unit bearings have come a long way nowadays.


i dont know how the ford ones are, but if you have dodge ones, get ones meant for ABS so every once in a while you can squirt some grease into the bearing thru the wheel sensor hole.

I don't have any stock radios but I think I have one or two JVC or similar head units laying around if you want one fo cheep
