Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh and colin, every comanche i have ever owned has been black shortbeds and have been transformed into sick wheeling machines. make me proud.
i personally know a couple people who did 4 popper to high output 6 banger swaps in these

I will make you proud if you sell it to me.

I'm going to bother Carmelo to see if I can steal the wiring harness out of his green jeep that is headed to the JY.

Man.... That is something I have not done in my lifetime... yet.

Thinking of which, my buddy's father needs to hurry the fawk up and finish his el camino build. All he needs is maybe paint (I think he has that done) and I think it needs wheels/tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bob - pretty sure that's what the guy I bought my MJ off of is driving now, I know it's a quattro with most of those options but I'm not sure on the rest. Apparently you have to pull the timing belt and everything else to replace the thermostat on those, make sure it's in good shape - no experience here but that's what I've been told.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

grr, the node i need to use isn't talking to the license server. it's the only one with more than 32 gb of ram and i need about 50ish for my model to run.

i lied

while there was an el-camino in the shop, i did not hang out in the back, nor drink in it.

but still

it was an el-camino, so its sweet

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd let you borrow one of our test systems with 256GB in it (and 4 quadcore hyperthreading processors!) but I don't think it would go well, between trying to get out of your network and trying to get into mine... lol

EDIT: the transmission is no longer on blocks in my living room :( it's on the back porch now, due to the landlord showing my apartment to some new tenants today I needed to have the place a little more presentable

haha yeah i don't think that would work well. i could run it on 8 processors on this node... and 8 > 4 :D

I just got a bonus from work.

AWESOME.
shweeeeeeet. you should get some goodies for the jeep. i was just trying to think of things that you want and don't have in terms of building your rig bigger. couldn't really come up with much. how about 3-link fab parts?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

8 quadcores or 8 CPUs visible to the OS? These show up as 32 logical processors from the operating system's perspective... I had to pick my jaw up off the floor the first time I opened Windows Task Manager on one of them.

It's kinda funny watching Windows try to load balance a single threaded app across 32 CPUs, it frantically switches the app from processor to processor every timeslice
