THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

now time to order driveplate bolts for both jeeps, and after will be radiators
Nice, are you keeping the '98 now? If not, why not just use Travis's in that and save the $190?

Oh, and I need an NSS for my '97. Sure I could leave the connection jumped like I've got it, but I'd like it to be correct. I don't want to drop a huge amount on one (RockAuto, Dealer, Advance, all $190+), anyone ever try the ~$49 eBay ones?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Which is why I've got open ones. I would like Rob's nuts (hehehe) though, his will keep the stud threads clean.

Never had a problem with my studs being dirty. Nuts always went on nice and easy.

As long as you're constantly wheelin, they're spinning so fast they'll self clean :D

i just cross thread on whatever nuts i can find.

Worry about that after it's wheelin. Did you try cleaning yours out? Is it completely broken?

I have an old spare one that needs a cleaning if you want (came out of the '91 I think). Could probably just splice new wires in to match your connector...? Not sure.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thanks for the lug nut tips... the ones that bill posted look like they'll work

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill - Where was it made? After blowing 40 dollars on ultra shoddy engine and transmission mounts from korea and india that I'm not even sure I'll be using (they're that bad), I'm done with that crap

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Incorrect information. Mine came from Advance, ordering 34 of them (2 spares) was way cheaper.

... maybe my advance just sucks hardcore. it was $2.95 each for lugnuts there, and the ones they had didn't even have the same hex size as standard 3/4" ones so i have to carry two sockets around to change tires

Again, just to be sure, are your's 9/16"?

Mine toast. I took it apart, but the connections on the inside are gone. Nothing I can do.
I'm not sure if the '91 would work or not. Thanks though.

I'd rather not be wheeling it with a little jumper across the connections if I didn't have to. What's another $50? Assuming that eBay one isn't trash. It's way easier to do it now with everything out of the way.

"Overseas" is all I got when I asked. They all are. :( You are not going to find a sensor that didn't come from China, Taiwan or India.

I ordered mine buy the box of 10. The additional 4 I got for the quantity of 10 price. If you go in and buy them individually they'll probably be expensive.

The company I did my first co-op with, Pollak, made automotive sensors and switches and whatnot. They had a few lines of manufacturing in Canton MA to make simple things like door buzzer switches and a few Hall Effect sensors, but the more complex ones were sent to Mexico. Interesting note, many of the switches on our beloved XJs came from there, like the rocker switches, the switch for the headlight / dimmer, door buzzers, etc.

That sucks, but with those choices, I'll take Taiwan when I can. I've seen some pretty good quality stuff come out of there, but I see nothing but really rough work with crappy materials come from China and India.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All of my parts are made in mesopotamia

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah. Another bit of info about the jet engine... the air duct between the outlet of the compressor and the inlet of the combustion chamber popped off mid-burn because someone forgot to tighten one of the hose clamps. My hand was right next to it. There is no longer any hair on the back of my hand... a large fireball came out the air inlet on the combustion chamber when it popped apart.

yeah, I got lit on fire by an exploding jet engine. Luckily all it did was take the hair off

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Keep at it, eventually a hand will explode. Then you can replace it with a chainsaw. You'll have to stop being a computer nerd(totally forget what you do). On the other hand you can become a serial grizzly bear murderer. I don't think it pays much, but the amount of prestige that goes along with that kind of work-unsurpassable.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im gonna hold of on radiator for 95 for now, ill let all the crap in the engine block up the current radiator, then ill install new radiator, now what can i waste my money on now

Well, at least I'd have plenty of grizzly bears around to eat. They're pretty tasty. I think I need a longer chainsaw that starts easier first though.
