THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey I guess I now have access to a 97 flatbed diesel tow truck(chevy I think) ummmmm....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

HAH

wtf does that thing do?

27hp and 30tq, adjust shift points, account for changes in tire size, adjust rev limiter, read and clear trouble codes, etc etc. I guess his buddy who he got the truck from had it. I thought it was hilarious, I said "bam. case closed." and he rolled his eyes hah

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So as of this afternoon I'm now driving my new DD.

1990 MJ LB, 4.0, AX-15, 231...etc.

And I love how before I even had it I've already got a parts list of stuff I need and projects lined up to do on it. Sweet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:roflmao:

OK... about time I tried to figure out how to mount a 2m/70cm ham radio antenna to the factory location. Luckily, I have the required M6x1.0 tap on hand and a friend of mine has a smallish lathe...

EDIT: whoa. ANOTHER new MJ owner... this could almost become a trend or something. What's wrong with yours?

So it's almost driveable now?

:D

I might be mistaken but weren't you another one of those guys that were opposed to buying anything from there until recently? You can get some pretty awesome tools there. Next time you're there pick up there composite ratchets. If you're still using craftsman you'll convert immediately. I use them every day. Don't buy there sockets though. They kick ass but skip sizes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

From what I've seen, the stuff there tends to be a bit rough on the machining/workmanship and the alloys tend to be on the soft side. I do love some of their stuff though, like the 1 ton hoist that can handle 50% more than it's rated for while I'm hauling it around through mud.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dooba dooba dooba gonna go outside and take things off my xj. Got my inspection sticker today, my comanche kicks ass(I had one before you guys).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

carmelo, yes i was a non believer recently. i do use craftsman ratchets though. but i own the good ones with the chrome handles and 6* ratcheting. i think HF is good for things that don't wear out... like i bought a nice 24" stainless ruler, a file, and i sprang for a set of 115 HSS drill bits that was $40... and i don't have any good bits here either... but i wouldn't buy anything like a tube bender, i mean kinker, or any precise measuring equipment there. HF is really good for big dumb things and has some other decent things too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

but also, the beer i'm drinking sucks. it made me sad.

I have hammered the crap out of there sockets and they still look brand new. There impact sockets hold up fine when you use them in an impact gun and I used them everyday for two months straight.

I bought their impacts. They seem to be pretty decent but are cheap as hell so I don't worry about modifying/destroying them if I need to.

They're the same as any impact set you'd buy at autozone, homedepot or the like except 1/3 price. I got my set for like $8 and expected them to last the end of the week. Sill work:dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Blue Moon goes amazingly well with rice chex

EDIT: yeah, ratchets I like nice brands. My Craftsman 3/8" I bought in 2003 is still kicking and I have used it for anything from a prybar to a breaker bar to a hammer to a punch to a ratchet (fancy that.) The Wal-Mart special lasted 30 minutes before I torqued the drive stud off, Husky ratchets last a few days or maybe a week before I screw up the ratchet pawl, and I haven't been silly enough to try a Harbor Fright one yet.

EDIT2: yeah yeah, maybe the craftsman ratchets aren't so nice. I still haven't managed to kill mine, that's good enough for me  and yes GearWrench kicks major ass and I will buy any of their products whenever I have the money. I already have a bunch of their ratcheting box wrenches.

Never seen a good craftsman ratchet:shhh: I was about to drop $100+ on a snap on or similar till I bought the HF ones. Gearwrench makes a nice ratchet I think i'll pick up though.

COMANCHE!
 you should buy one immediately, if not sooner.

Actually, anyone have an eye-to-eye measurement for the rear driveshaft length on a SWB MJ with 4.0/AW-4/231 and a SUA 8.25/D44? I think I saw it on CC but I'm not sure.
