Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sooooooo anyone want to go out for mah b-day next friday?

Time to go put the trackbar and DSS in the truck. PEACE.

drinks drinks drinks, i may stop by and watch you put on the DSS

I might be persuaded to make the drive...

just like you drove out for my bday and that your jeep will be ready for nacfest

:D

The male fitting on the radiator. I just want to be able to get an adapter from that to a hose barb.

all seriousness Bill, i wanna say it was just a regular 5/16" flare fitting

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

black jeep drives again!!

.....althougth there is a bald MTR on one of my old alum rims on there

.....and no hatch glass

.....or DS tail light

.....or PS mirror

buy hey, it still goes

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

this morning the blue jeep would of stil started and ran, but it no longer will, i went ahead and cut the wire harness that went into the fuel rail so got a couple wires in the pass side to disconect, exhaust, motor mounts and remove tcase then it will all come out

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i supose i can go outside and start pullin the motor and trans, i think im gonna pull the tcase first to make everything come out easier
honestly no need, we pulled the whole thing and it came out pretty easy. You just have to kinda push the thing sideways a little when you get it past the control arms/jackstands/whatever is under there. Moving the hoist was way more of an issue for us, since the wheels were 3" into the mud. I'll probably be there in like 2-3hr btw.

Colin took his stock nut and cut the tube short then flared it, that would work if mine wasn't toast. Since it is, I might as well get the correct adapter.
If carmelo doesn't give you one, I think I have a stock upper line (the steel one) sitting around somewhere still, if you need to buy new, it's a Dorman 624-334 and costs literally less than 5 dollars on rockauto.

Ouch dude... ouch. Hey I didn't find out until about 2hrs before you planned on meeting up.
As for the second one... no comment.

Close if you double that size. Checking on the new radiator with a set of threading dies, it looks like a 5/8-18 in. inverted flare.
I'll pick up something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts.aspx?sku=DER-13025

Lunch over, back to work...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

SWEEET. I just called another local yamaha dealer and they have the clutch cable I need in stock and its cheaper than the other shop that I originally called. Maybe I will be going for a ride later today :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

engine tranny and tcase are out ,now if peaple would hurry up and buy all the crap i have laying around :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wtf, clutch cable installed but it doesn't seem to fully diengage the clutch when I pull it in. Also has a very heavy pull. Even more of a PITA is that the bike won't start at all, can't tell if the carb is more gummed up than I thought (and my clean job wasn't enough) or if it is something else. It is getting spark, so that shouldn't be it... :dunno:

Edit: Is there any quick/easy way to check if fuel is making it through the carb?

Edit2: Nevermind, gave it a few solid jump starts and she came to life. First ran fine and reved OK (a little rough but I'm sure it needed to clean itself out); then the high speed side of the carb started getting pissy and it would only rev to 4k and then die off; then the low end started getting pissy and it would idle fine but putting any load on the engine made it bog down and die; then suddenly it was back to 100%. Running great now. clutch got adjusted too and that feels OK now. All I gotta find is a a trail or something to ride. Hmmmmm...

Truck drives a million times better. Ross came over and persuaded the xmember for the DSS into place thanks d00d.

Now I just gotta fix the dumb excuse for a steering setup, the ball joints, and sway bar end links then the front end should be done feel like new.

As for next friday, haven't exactly decided where yet. I'll let everyone know when I figure it out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got absolutely nothing accomplished on the green jeep today, I didn't even pick up a tool to do anything to it.

I did find out why my steering in the Briarwood was messy. The symptoms were a little sloppy steering, and it would be hard to turn sometimes, then would all of a sudden become easy.

Turns out there is a good amount of play in the u-joint where it goes into the box, and it takes a crap ton of force for me to move the upper u-joint where it goes into the steering column. The slip joint is also frozen.

Unfortunately the one I got from Travis is not the same. I'll get to putting it back on tomorrow.

My E-codes did come in though...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So anyone that knows about cameras... is the Rebel XTi (or any of the Rebel series) worth picking up?

Was thinking about picking one up and probably would, but I am a bit disappointed that (at least from what I heard) it can't record video.

My boss has one of the older rebels (the 7.1 or 8.1 MP one) and likes it, but figured I would get some other feedback before buying anything....
