all the UJ guys puss*ed out, they just cant handle a day of wheelin hungover

hey hey hey....

i'm pretty much ALWAYS hung over when i'm wheeling, especially with UJ! i just didn't have brakes for the jeep by Saturday

Colin, I had a weird dream last night where you decided that your Jeep was trash or something, and you were taking it apart and decided to give me your y-link, and said it was fine, you didn't need to wheel for a little while.

That was clearly a dream. :roflmao:

I need to get out with UJ, hopefully quite soon. At least I made it on sat. Though I won't lie I was dragging a bit by the time we finished eating. :laugh3:

my stuff won't be together.... but I will be there to either mooch a seat or wander and shoot pics.

Unless by some act of god I get it into the shop and it is geared and everything by the wkend. In that case I would have to make saturday a JY day to get shafts and other such spares.

its both. only 2 more weekends of it this season. this friday i'm working til 11 so not gonna bother, i'm really hoping to go saturday night though seeing as the following weekend i gotta work til 11 also, and then saturday night im going to a party so i cant ride

Ok, who did I talk with recently that has a 5spd XJ front drive shaft (apparently it is ~3" shorter than an auto's).
I could use one assuming the slip and CV are in great shape. U-joints I can replace, but if I have to drop money on the other parts I might as well bu a whole shaft.
Probably me, I've had it hanging around forever. I gave it to Jon on Saturday though...

I DO have a full CV joint setup in the junkpile if you want to rebuild one, it came with something I got at the junkyard plus about 3" of ds tubing. Seems in good shape, was well coated with oil from a leaky rear main seal. From seeing the lineup of spare/project shafts I had sitting in my back hall for a while, the manual front DS is about 1" to 1.5" shorter than the auto, not 3", if you want to find an OEM app that will fit your needs, google for j321-cv and look through for the collapsed length and U-joint series you're aiming for.

sam's has them for $20 each... that's where i've gotten a couple.
That's where I've gotten most of the ones I had hanging around. Bring a good jack if you want to spend 20 on a shaft, they charge an additional 20 to put a vehicle up on a stand for disassembly. You should also bring jackstands or plan on moving some big heavy rocks to use as such.

naw, it works fine. you just gotta be careful how you position it. i should restate that i use only one large rock... but the hi-lift is great. all the puerto rican and brazilian guys will be complimenting you. you'll feel like the star of the show. then one will try to steal it when you're not looking.
