Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a bunch of code and a presentation I need to get done by Thursday that just got dumped on me today, and I'm in a post-silicon linux kernel test/debug course all day tomorrow... if I don't get it done tonight and tomorrow night, I'm gonna be doing an all nighter right before Thursday. I'd rather stay late a few nights, it's that or go home and wish I didn't have stupid roommates and that it was light out so I could work on my jeep lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so find a house to rent for the time being instead of an apartment and Jeep people for roommates

That's what I should have done a while ago. :dunno: hopefully house soon though... hopefully...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You *Don't* have the correct bolts. If you did, they wouldn't have been able to fit through your brake lines.

The whole "at least mine drives" is the most stupid response ever.

They didn't use metric banjo bolts on Jeeps/chevy in the '70s.
I don't trust your parts guy.

The correct banjo is most definitely a standard thread pattern, NOT metric.

Blah blah blah.

My brakes work, end of story.

Not a stupid response, mine drives aka has bolts that WORK.

i thought about the banjo bolt thing... as long as the pitches are the same i can see how it would seem to thread in.

It tightens down and puts enough tension to not let ANY fluid leak out. If I had torqued it any more I would shear the bolt for sure.

lemme know if a battle royale goes down, I got yer back on this

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not gonna lie, I'd be pretty sketched out driving something like that because I like to overengineer things and that's marginal IMO... but hey, if it works, FIRI.

Scott - that means a few hundred bucks a month I can't save for jeep/house/cool projects.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I drove daily on it for 6+ months at 500+ miles a week. PLENTY of panic stops.

NEVER had a problem.

Sure it may not be the CORRECT bolt, but it works and so do my brakes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I call the cage after they're done fighting in it, I could use some spare tubing

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the banjo bolts in black jeep have seen at least 5 pairs of calipers since ive owned it. im pretty sure the copper washers have too

.!.:D.!.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahahaha, I'm not the only one reusing the crush washers, good to know...

I keep using the old ones again and have a few new ones sitting around in case the old ones leak when I try to bleed the system or do my testing (a few panic brakes in a parking lot) :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my brakes go to the floor right now

but it stops well enough to make everything in the back seat slam into the back of the front seats

i needs to zj proportioning valve mah whip

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Once I get the MJ I think that is the first thing I am doing. 95/96 booster, ZJ prop valve, and rear disks. (well that's whenever I swap in a 8.25 or 8.8). Then it gets AX-15 whenever I need to do a clutch... and starts the progressive upgrading of the Jeep all over again, though this one should stay pretty tame.
