My jeep is no longer street legal. Inspection sticker ran out today.

Calling the insurance company to get some of the money back.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My Jeep is $700 a year full coverage under my parents name but my VW with just liability is $900. That's one reason I'm selling it, the other is that I just can't get parts for it when something junks out.

That's not too bad.

My truck is $700 with full collision and all that jazz.

Just got my excise tax the other day too...$14.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My 08 altima is something like $900 or $950 with full coverage. Jeep is $518 with glass. Would have been $650 for full coverage (but why the hell would I pay for that on the Jeep?) Motorcycles are like $170 for the FZX700 (includes vandalism and other damage) and $90 for the XT350 (very minimal coverage).

However only the altima is street legal right now. Jeep isn't inspected and neither are the motorcycles. Jeep will be inspected once I get more work done. Axle repaired, seatbelts in, mirror mounted, rocker rust repaired, rear quarters cut and folded (to get rid of rust). Motorcycles will be inspected as soon as it gets nicer out. I am pretty sure i will have to tear both of them down and clean the carbs. I may bring the FZX to a shop to get that done so the carbs can be balanced as well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love how cheap the XJ is on insurance. All my friends are paying about 1200 for liabilty and I pay almost half that for full. But the VW I have is just stupid, the gas I save driving that is killed by whatI have to pay for ins. After this summer I'm thinking about selling my bike and buying a DD XJ or ZJ. I just want something that has 4wd and I know I will miss having two cars when the XJ breaks and it's raining.

in NH you technically dont need insurance correct?

in mass you are required to, its the law.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

let me know about the garage i can probably get you a good price.

also ill text you around six if thats cool meet yah around 630-7
Will do, I will almost certainly be home by then. I'm betting I'll need it for 2-3 days seeing as it's supposed to be a 3-4 hour job to install a tranny and things are GOING to go wrong. Then I just have to figure out how to drive two Jeeps to the place so I can get home.

You also don't live in Boston, Worcester, or Fitchburg. You're lucky. I have a fairly clean driving record (only two moving violations on it iirc, and neither is in mass so one of them might not actually apply) and my insurance is 1500/year for one vehicle. It was 1300/year or so till they realized I do about 32k miles a year.

awesome, I'll take a ten dollar fix over a 100+ dollar fix anyday :D Best thing about buying a vehicle from a friend who you helped with repairs? You know exactly what's wrong with the thing... I know my MJ's thermostat has about 800 miles on it, most of them from me driving it to NJ and back for that trans+engine+TC.

Nope but I heard if you don't you're found at fault for the accident. Unless I rear ended you at a stop light/sign or something like that.

That'd be awesome, I'm hoping not to end up in a jam but we'll see.

I have really been strongly considering (more and more so) finding a new job and moving to south/central NH or southern VT. Getting really tired of the insurance rates, taxes, gun control, current job, etc...

x2. Which is one reason I have kindof backed off on my house hunting lately. Yeah I look around from time to time... but not shopping TOO hard lately. If I can land another job somewhere else I may do that. Hopefully either move to NH or VT, or just go all out and move to TX or somewhere down that way.

But then again I have at least another 4 months at my currently job. I won't leave until I have at least 1 year with this company, probably won't leave until I have at least 1.5 years. So my potential job change is still quite a ways away... but hopefully it happens.
