THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i had a csf 3 row in 3 jeeps since 2005

i go to take it out of my white jeep and it was bent a little bit to my unibody and "sprung" back into place and as it "jumped" coolant began pouring out of a pinhole in it

so i left it in the jeep and ran the jeep over

pirate sucks so much hahah

questions from this weekend

Did Bill do anything to his rig this weekend?
Did Travis get his new rig this weekend?
How far did Billy get done with his leaf conv. this weekend?
What broke this weekend on Marks's XJ's

Nope, probably gonna go down on Thursday, I gotta work nights until then so that's the earliest I can go. No rush really, it's not like it's getting wheeled at Lobster's ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All you talking about strokers for 3600... http://marshallsmachine.com/

Check out their price list, less than $1200 for a rebuilt 4.0. They also do a 4.7 stroker for $1700. And it includes free delivery (and the engines have a 4 year 40k mile warranty).

Also if you drop the rig off with them they will do the engine + install for $3000

Oh, only "catch" is that I THINK they take your current engine which may explain why they are somewhat inexpensive compared to others

EDIT: that'd be a wicked shop but damn, it costs more than my current rent for my third of my apartment!

it costs just less than one third my rent... how does that make you feel? :bawl:

back to computer geek talk: the model that i submitted to run over the weekend ended up having about 32 million degrees of freedom. :spin1:

i need to go back through my stuff and figure out what i'm going to post...

i love getting to work at like 645 because there's no noe here till about now and i can sit in quiet and do my work. i now see why my father has been one of those seemingly crazy people that gets to work at about 0600.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Part of me would love to go into work earlier, but that in turn would require me waking up earlier, which means I need to pass out earlier... and that just won't happen because I can never get myself to go to sleep at a reasonable time. I have been better lately :) I have myself down from 12:30-1AM to about 11:00-11:30PM... trying to get myself into passing out around 10:30-11... We will see how that works :laugh3:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

There's too many things to do in a day to go to bed early or sleep for more than 4 hours. I don't sleep and look how great i'm turning out...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, frees up so much room. Luckily, all my lines are held in with fittings so I can just unscrew them all (just cut them off for now though) and find plugs at home depot or something.

Hopefully not...it's a CSF 3-row and less than a year old. I'm praying I can save it...
Bring it to a radiator shop and see if they can braze/solder the hole, I've heard of people having good luck with that.

32 million? holy christ, I wish I knew what that was now.

Agreed, I just find motivation to get up very difficult in the winter. In the summer I'm up and awake by 0630. In the winter I smack my alarm clock and roll over again.

I used to do that in college, heck I used to do an allnighter a week for the whole school year just for the hell of it. For an entire quarter I woke up at 2PM for my afternoon class and then stayed up till 9AM, right after my morning class. I'm not sure if it's that I don't have the motivation to now, or can't do it, but it just isn't the same.

Or just braze it yourself. Brazing isn't that hard. Though then again I don't speak from much experience at all, maybe the small amounts of brazing I did was a bad example of how difficult brazing is overall :dunno:

In college Soph year I averaged 2-3 hours per night for the first half of the 2nd semester (including wkends) and then 3-4 hours per night for the 2nd half of the semester. Once I got used to 2-3 hours 4 hours felt like a luxury :D I was fine back then, usually passed out at 4:30-5AM and was up at 7:30 for class.

And yeah, during the winter I hate getting up.. but I am up at 6:30 during the week and over the weekend... it depends what's going on. Sometimes I am up at 7 or 8, other times I sleep in till 11 (though that's usually if I am up until 3 or 4AM).

During the summer I may get up earlier on wkends since I actually have motivation to get outside and work on something.. but during the week it's still 6:30. I have no reason to get up any earlier. I just have to be leaving the house by 7:15ish so I can get to work on time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The only thing I'd worry about brazing a radiator is how small the spaces are, and how they're usually painted... cleaning all the road grit, smashed insects, and paint off well enough for it to braze well would be the tough part.

I hope I get to the point where I can say "I used to stay up late." I've been like this since early middle school. So it's been atleast around 8 years. I do wish I could sleep like a normal person sometimes.

I'm going to drop out of my english class. I like writing and I can get good grades but it's the same teacher I keep getting. He gives a ton of assignments that I need to pair up with another student. I friggen hate making friends and finding out stupid crap like they enjoy soccer and like listening to third eye blind. I dont care and i'm not writing an essay about them. Next semester i'll take it again and make sure it's not the same teacher.

That's my problem right now. After college I continued my 4-5 hours sleep per night trend through the summer (summer '08). My job in the fall/winter '08 sucked and I literally sat at a desk all day doing nothing so I stayed up and got 4 hours sleep per night and just napped at work. Then I was unemployed for 5 months until may '09 so my sleep patterns then were all facked up. Sometimes was asleep at 10PM, other times at 7AM. Now I am just starting to work myself towards a "normal" pattern, but it has taken a few months of working at it

That's why I loved being an engineer. English I and II... and that was it :D Never took another english class. When I finished my final exam for english II and knew I would never set another foot in an english/literature etc class it was amazing.

I can write one hell of a tech memo but suck at creative writing/analysis. The hardest (most anal) engineering professor at my school assigned a tech memo on day 1 of freshman year. The highest grade he had ever given was a 85 or something. I got a 92 and had -5 of that score because I forgot to staple my memo. He pulled me aside after class and talked to me about it. It was awesome.... then I got my first english paper back and got like a 75, apparently one of the lowest scores for the first paper. :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

grrrr.
gotta do my water pump today.
its got one of those leaks outta the bottom, out of that pinhole thing on the pump.

kinda annoying since i replaced the hose in my driveway, dumping the coolant into a cooler, and still leaked.
Went out, got a pump, but it looked like it was coming from under the hose, pumpside.
So i figured because it was so cold and i rushed through, i didnt snug up the hose.
snugged it up, and seemed to stop.
until yesterday after work....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My teacher freshman year said I had the writing ability of a fourth grader. The proceeded to tell me how it was going to cost me in life that I'm not an academic student. Two weeks later her car broke down and was going to cost her $800 to have it fixed for a blown water pump. I looked at her and said "Well I can fix it for $300 if you give me a B- in the class." I scraped by with a C- and she bought a new car...
