THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I can get some quater guard armor on I may run a little bit the 13th. Some how I was the only one that made it out with straight panels, just a dented muffler and some belly scratches.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

for me the quarters aint the big issue, ive killed my drip rails id figure a way to armor those, quarter guars aint gonna protect against windows, if i was to make quarter guards it be high density plasic lighter then steel and slides alot wasier, anyways just me 2 cents

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Part of me is wondering if I should just take all the glass out of my Jeep before that run... though knowing my luck I would take all teh glass out to avoid breaking too much and spending too much repair $$... and then I would snap an axle shaft, causing my ring&pinion to explode somehow and lock up which would nuke the t-case and then I would roll down a hill.

So I think I will leave the glass in

I positively killed both my quarter panels. I want armor there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

watertight is the only way to do it. do it right or STFU.
Agreed.
and bill, even though you preplanned your cuts, you still had to go back a few times.
If I had stayed with leafs (or built my suspension first like I should have) then I wouldn't have had to go back.
Yeah I would over prepare myself for a few months before hand. And I would weld the entire rear hatch solid so it w(sh)ouldn't leak. I think it looks good when done right and blended but I'm not sure I actually have the talent for that kind of body work.
I have no talent for body work (ask Colin). I spent hours sanding and wet sanding, starting over, sanding and wet sanding. I don't think mine came out to shabby after paint. I really think the good paint gun did wonders in helping with the even panels though.
I see no benefit to chopping the back off.

I like having interior storage.
Neither do I. Agreed. Only reason I did it was it was the easiest way of "repairing" my damage.
ew. sports pictures. borrrrringggg.
X2.

You didn't try hard enough.
:D
I think he did a good job seeing as he was concerned about damage (nothing wrong with that).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And thinking about it before the 13th I should probably replace the u-joints and wheel joints with something good. Plus pick up some spare shafts, plus re-do my steering maybe, plus a skid plate or 2 maybe

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

for the cost of the gearset, master install kit, and labor to regear it, you'll have already paid for that axle and your fuel. AND it's got an aussie AND two sets of spare shafts... go get it. now.

I was looking into making something like this http://www.hdoffroadengineering.com/collections/frontpage/products/xj-roof-sliders doesn't look too hard and certainly a lot cheaper than $300!
