THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

crisis adverted, turned out to be jsut one of the glow plugs set it off cause it went outta range. im 99.9% sure its from using the remote start, it doesnt give the glow plugs enough time to warm up before it tries to start itself.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sure, just let me know when, I usually just hit radio shack for connectors but it's sounding like this might warrant a trip to Stark Electronics for a bucket of PL-259s.
Will probably be pretty soon. Hopefully will be bending up a bracket to mount my CB in my dash tonight, then it's just a matter of time until I buy an antenna. I just gotta decide if I should man up and spend extra money on a good one or buy a radio shack special.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

whats the diff between RG59 and 58?
59 is a 75 ohm impedance coax, it's usually used for A/V stuff. 58 is a 50 ohm impedance coax, it's usually used for two way radio comms and ancient computer networking. Originally the RG series of cable type specifications were invented by the military, the number after it was simply the page number for the relevant spec sheet in their catalog, the military stopped using the RG specs decades ago but everyone else still uses it. There are a few hundred of them but only about a dozen or two are in common use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I looked at the trackbar bracket crap for a minute today while I took a break from shoveling...I've got some pretty serious work to do if my Jeep's gonna have a shot at going to Lobster's next month. ughh

ya dude. in the walmart parking lot

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I emailed the pics to myself, photobucket later. Looking at it, I think (thanks to it being weakened the first time it happened at Fall Crawl) the steel started to tear and subsequently broke one or two of the welds on the bracket. Ghey.

I'm going to cut all of it off and do something with angle iron/plate or c-channel or something. Stupid Jeep...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just weld a shitload of 1/4" plate untill you get somthing that looks like a bracket, then add more steel
