THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a 2 door without a broken top hinge is not a real 2 door. i had to do both sides on my blue jeep back in HS. red jeep currently needs the DS hinge done. ive got the metal waiting to do it, just gotta feel like doin it. the same door also currently lacks an interior handle, so i just roll the window do a little bit and grab the door frame. it kinda sucks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, steve called me saying you were going to try to grab that engine hoist tonight? Are you still coming to Boston for it?
nope :( really sorry to get you guy's hopes up, my dumbass friend with the mj completely forgot where he put his spare key and isn't gonna be back till way late, and I have to head for NJ way early, so I ended up picking up yet another at autozone here. :banghead:

Really wish I could have, it would have done steve and also you a favor, and cost me less money, but I'm screwed badly for time.

also - how many cases of yeungling should I pick up for everyone, if anyone wants any

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not intentionally :dunno:

I usually end up there every few months for some reason or another.

First time last summer - picking up my 32s from Victor S, dropping off TB and bushing
Last fall - drove down in my XJ to rescue the MJ, it had very leaky tranny cooler lines, went to Skreed's partout and whatnot as well
Now - driving down in the MJ to get a tranny to rescue my XJ

I'm betting next time it'll be to replace the rest of the rest of the brake lines on the MJ.

EDIT: crap, bob, I completely forgot - I have a full set of rear (2 lefts, 2 rights) TJ flares here I was gonna give you, seriously, make an offer, I got em for a hell of a bargain so I'll let me go for one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

he's asking waaay too much for that ax-15. i payed $40 for the one i got that had bad syncros. and, FWIW, doing the syncros for 1-2 is a lot more work than doing 3, 4, or 5 because of how it's put together.

Good to know. Maybe not emailing then.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man this thread is quiet today with everyone out on a wheeling run.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing earlier. So I finally went out and bought a non-battery powered sawz-all today. Very good investment, dont know why I didn't do it sooner. I think I may bring this one back and exchange it though.

I was torn between the Dewalt and the Rigid, ended up buying the dewalt. I like it and it's doing well, except the blade guard is fixed... not like the others I have used that have have a blade guard that will angle itself to stay flush with whatever you are cutting. I will keep using it for this project and maybe one more to see how I like it. It does have one nice feature in that you can mount the blade either vertically or sideways. Not that it's THAT important of a feature, I can always just turn the whole saw sideways

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

bump, i don't have any form of sawzall. what would you want for one?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

gotta change the oil on my girlfriend's family's caravan today. joy and rapture. it takes the same oil filter as the 4.0... weird.

i found a sweet deal on a camera tripod at walmart today too so i bought that. me like.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmm, so made some progress this wkend I guess. Drivers side hinges are better than they were, drivers side rocker now exists (and is not made out of foam filler). Bought a new 10A sawzall that I am starting to like more and more even though it has a fixed blade guard. Now that I have a good sawzall and don't have to swap out batteries (and wait for batteries to charge) all the damn time I should be able to get through the rear axle swap, passenger side rocker, and rear quarters next wkend pretty easily.

I just thought about it and I can't believe how rotted the Jeep was back when it was my DD. With the amount of rust that I have cut out and replaced... kinda terrifying that I was driving around like that  And I am going to replace all this stuff and then just start beating the piss out of the body and destroy it again. Why am I doing this? :dunno::laugh2:
